No matter how targeted the strikes or how sophisticated the weapons, civilian casualties are inevitable, including the elderly and children, whom the strikes are meant to protect.

We need to use the United Nations Security Council and believe that preserving law and order in today’s complex and turbulent world is one of the few ways to keep international relations from sliding into chaos. The law is still the law, and we must follow it whether we like it or not. Under current international law, force is permitted only in self-defense or by the decision of the Security Council. Anything else is unacceptable under the United Nations Charter and would constitute an act of aggression

Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord’s blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal.

Philip Mazzei (1774)

Tutti gli uomini sono per natura egualmente liberi e indipendenti. Quest'eguaglianza è necessaria per costituire un governo libero. Bisogna che ognuno sia uguale all'altro nel diritto naturale.

All men are by nature equally free and independent.  Such equality is necessary in order to create a free government.   All men must be equal to each other in natural law.

It is odd that the statement almost always attributed to Thomas Jefferson was most likely penned by an Italian that received a Russian pension and was also a secret agent for the state of Virginia in charge of shipping weapons from Italy.  Kind of makes me think of another old saying, "God made man, but Samuel Colt made them equal."  Weapons from US and Russia are pouring into Syria would not be necessary if we were truly all equal...

Hypocrites all of them.

This is what it comes down to.  And Putin trying to teach others about peace....hahhahaa.   He and Obama are buddies...they probably laugh about this when together.
