Ann Coulter: GOP Being 'Ripped Off' By 'Hucksters, Shysters' With Egos Like Liz Cheney

Conservative media personality Ann Coulter let loose on Monday on some of her concerns surrounding the GOP.

In an interview with Fox News' "Hannity," Coulter went after the "hucksters" and "shysters" who are "ripping off the Republican Party for their own self-aggrandizement, for their own egos, to make money."

“I would put Todd Akin, Newt Gingrich, Liz Cheney, Mark Sanford all in the same boat, and the consultants who persuaded Linda McMahon and John Raese to run,” Coulter said.

Akin (Missouri), McMahon (Connecticut) and Raese (West Virginia) all lost 2012 U.S. Senate races by double-digit margins, while Gingrich fell in the 2012 GOP presidential primary. Sanford emerged victorious in a May special election to fill the former Congressional seat of current Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.)

The lone person involved in a current campaign in Coulter's line of names is Cheney, who announced in July that she would mount a challenge against incumbent Sen. Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.). Coulter predicted that the 47-year-old daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney would cause unnecessary trouble for Enzi.

“Why should we be having — and I love Liz Cheney— but why should we be having a rancorous primary against a good Republican senator other than for Liz Cheney’s ego?” Coulter told Hannity.
