oldschooler Posted January 10, 2014 Report Share Posted January 10, 2014 FORMER BENGALS WR ARRESTED FOR BATTERY AND THROWING HIS WIFE’S IPAD Former NFL wide receiver Carl Pickens was arrested and charged with battery for an alleged attack on his wife, authorities in Georgia said. Pickens, who played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans, was taken into custody Sunday, nearly a month after the alleged attack, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. On Dec. 7, Pickens allegedly picked up his wife and threw her on the couch, said a Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department report of the incident. He then allegedly pinned her down by holding her neck and pushed her into the couch, leaving bruises on her neck, the report said. Pickens, 43, also allegedly threw an iPad against the wall and then stepped on it before fleeing the scene, the report said. What is it with throwing IPads? First it was George Zimmerman and now it is Carl Pickens? As we previously reported, cops in Georgia were on the hunt for the ex-Pro Bowl wide receiver after his wife told authorities Carl threw her on the couch and pinned her down by the neck during an argument on Dec. 7th. When deputies arrived to Carl's home to arrest him for domestic battery, his wife lied and told the deputies he wasn't there ... but then cops heard a "loud crashing sound" coming from the ceiling. Cops proceeded to inspect the house and saw "a fresh hole in the ceiling from the attic where Mr. Pickens had partially fallen." Dumbass. According to the report, cops shouted at Pickens to surrender ... and moments later, he obliged ... having blown his best hiding spot.
