A state judge, citing a woman's right to privacy, ruled that mothers can decide who will be with them when giving birth. In an opinion released Monday, the judge cited privacy rights outlined in two federal abortion cases. The case was argued over the telephone last year in Passaic County while Rebecca DeLuccia went into labor and delivered a girl. Her estranged fiance, Steven Plotnick, wanted access to the baby at birth. Plotnick's attorney, Laura Nunnink, tells The Star-Ledger of Newark it was important to her client to bond with the baby. DeLuccia's lawyer, Joanna Brick, says DeLuccia allowed Plotnick to visit, and his lawyer says he saw the child.

steggyD
Hell, maybe fathers can block the woman's right to child support. It must violate his privacy in some way.
|High School Harry|
Bizarre and perhaps non issue article. Painting with a broad brush. Maybe there are very real and valid reasons the mother does NOT want the guy in the room.
-GoBengals-
Hell, maybe fathers can block the woman's right to child support. It must violate his privacy in some way. there are some very very fucked up laws in this regard, there should be an independent group involved in making child support and child custody decisions. One made of men and women, single and married, etc.. not a single judge... from county to county decisions vary by thousands of dollars per year.. Bizarre and perhaps non issue article. Painting with a broad brush. Maybe there are very real and valid reasons the mother does NOT want the guy in the room. exactly, the delivery at the hospital has nothing to do with his rights as a parent or custody or anything else.. its a medical procedure and one that has nothing to do with him, if she doesnt want him there, chances are they arent exactly pals anymore... and if they are, she is just a wierdo who wants her privacy, either way, nothing he can do about that..
