The NFL draft is leaving New York after 49 years.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Thursday that the league has narrowed down the location of the 2015 draft to Los Angeles or Chicago. The event has been held in New York every year since 1965 and has been at Radio City Music Hall since 2006.

Goodell said after a panel at the summer TV critics' meeting that 12 cities were interested in hosting the draft, according to the Los Angeles Times. But the league narrowed the finalists to Los Angeles and Chicago after Radio City officials told the NFL that the venue wouldn't be available in April or May.

It should be in Dayton.

55% of the nation's population is within 90 minutes' flight of Dayton, making the Gem City the nation's #1 90-minute market.

The draft could be at the Schuster Center.  Sure, it's only got a seating capacity of 2300 (versus 6100 for Radio City), but New York City has 8.4 Million citizens versus less than 200K for Dayton, so instead of having only one seat for every 1,400 citizens (NYC), the Shuster has 15-16x the capacity, relatively speaking.  And if that doesn't work, UD Arena (13,400 cap) is only 2.3 miles away.

The draftees could all be housed in the Winters Bank Building - it's mostly vacant anyway.

Between rounds, draftees could hang out in the Oregon District.  They could get a tattoo, or visit an adult book store, enjoy a laugh at Wiley's Comedy Club, or get a burger:
