I think you're analysis on the Spanish PM is very uninformed, over simplified, and typical of the average American... Zapatero... has used the right approach in his country and the result is a dissapearance of any Islamic extremists, and a huge base of support within the Islamic community making it impossible for any to infiltrate the society in the future. He took the intelligent approach and one that Bush can not fathom or understand because he is so busy running around playing War, acting like he has a big dick with other peoples kids that he will never tire of watching them fly home in flag drapped coffins. Zapatero made the promise of pulling out of Iraq long before the Attack in Spain and it was his main Politcal promise as a candidate. He rightfully analyzed the situation and decided that he would no longer be a puppet of a lying Bush who invaded while giving lip service to inspections. Zapatero also then naturalized (made them citizens) the Islamic population in S Spain (which is quite large, mostly Moroccan) which then won him support in the Muslim communities. He also opened up DIalogue with the Muslims in Spain and let them voice their displeasure and then gave them aid and tried to help them economically. This made him a hero of the muslim people there and effectivley drove any potential terrorists out because now they have no haven to hide in because the former radicals now feel they have a vioce and at least have a leader who cares about their issues as well.... If Bush understood half the ability to build coalitions (he might be the worst Pres in American history at this) and half of what it takes to win over hearts and minds instead of create hatred through napalm drops then we would have captured Osama already, Al Qaeda would be non existant, and the world would be united fighting extremists as they were post 9/11. However istead we have a new Terrorist Hub in Iraq, 100 Billion $ wasted, over 50,000 Americans wounded and legless, 1,500 Americans dead, at least 30,000 Civilians dead in Iraq, potential Civil war, and terrorists springing up all around the world in our allies capitals.... But it is fun to use machismo rhetoric like well hunt them down and bring them to justice... not realizing that it is impossible to defeat insurgencies built on ideas... you have to combat the ideas and the pools of people those ideas can then take root in.....[/b][/i] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
