And I agree with Palmer.........we need Ravens fans to kick around.  I literally hate the Ravens (even more than the Patriots).  For some reason....pity, perhaps........I just can't hate the Bengals

The Raven's proclivity for idolizing felons puts them at the top of the afc north garbage heap. Other than Ben's unfortunate "pimp my quarterback" appearance and personality, I just don't mind the Steelers too much. Cowher's pretty cool.
When you were starting David Klingler, the Bengals had some support

When you were hailing Akili Smith as the team savior, the Bengals had some support

When you were in the Sam Wyche Era, the Bengals had some support

When you were being trashed by Corey Dillon, the Bengals had some support

When Carl Pickens raised hell to leave, the Bengals had some support

You Bengals fans are much like a jock strap. Full of support, but smell like ass.
That said, your little ol team is looked upon as getting better each year. Be proud you're not Cleveland. Though shit flows downhill, you might wind up with Carson getting Tim Couch disease. He's certainly not able to cure cancer or peek into the future. I doubt he can walk on water either.

But continue supporting him. Either way, you'll still smell like ass.

If you continue to tie your team's success to your current QB, then you really are in trouble.
Sure, the Bengals have sucked for however long. But they don't anymore. Sure, the Steelers had an unbelievable 15-1 season that you yourself say they will not replicate (smart boy).
Are the Bengals Super Bowl ready? Doubtful. But the Steelers aren't, either. In fact, I think your team is in worse shape due to free agnecy losses than it was last year---and you have a QB that cannot win games with his arm, a HOF RB in Bettis that will bust a few goalline plays, and an injury-prone Staley and Hines Ward. Where is your offense going to come from? And didn't your defense lose valuable FA's to other teams while our "lowly" Bengals have been slowly improving under Marvin's watch with two seasons of injuries, youth movement and roster turnover?
WE are the most talented offense in the AFC North now...
We'll see.

While I happen to agree with most of your post, Bung, I think you goofed in one part. You seem to be lumping Ward in with Staley as being injury prone. Staly has certainly had some injury problems over the years, but I don't believe Ward has ever missed a game.

Um... Steelers moms wear combat boots!

Staley only missed time last season because of a punch to his hammy in the first NE game.

The Steelers lost Burress to FA....Randle el filled in nicely during his injury abscense last season...and C Wilson could be a solid addition

Add up a healthy Staley, Ward, Randle El and Wilson to an improved Roethlisberger, plus hopefully, a TE who can catch the ball and there should be enough offense.

The Steeler D lost Bell in FA....he was never healthy last season and the D was pretty damn good....

The Bengals the most talented offense in the AFC North......I would tell you to shut up and quit embarassing yourself, but the last Steeler fan who posted that got a two week vacation from this site....

*sigh*

Duce or Rudi
Duce's highest amount of yards ever were 1273 in '99, Rudi beat that last year with 1454...... Edge goes to Rudi

Ketchup boy or Chad
While I will grant you that Ward is more of a blocking WR than Chad, Ill take Chad with his past two seasons leading the AFC in Yards (I do like that Ward was held to 15 yards by ROOKIE Kiewan Ratlif last year ;) )

Randel El or TJ
Randel EL had 601 yards last year, TJ had 978 .... Edge to TJ

Wilson or Warrick (because I think he'll be our #3)
Wilson is a unknown, Warrick isnt..... Edge Warrick

Palmer or London Clock Boy
I think this will be a wash, Ben won with a better D...to me I think its too early to tell so Ill just call it a draw

You have a better D, but please dont fool yourself into beliving your O is better than ours... we DO have the best O in the North, and if our D steps up we will compete for this division crown if not more

sigh.....

all the talent in the world does not mean you will win games...the bengals have had talent before and wasted it......

My position by position breakdown would just highlight that I view the teams from a Steeler viewpoint rather than a bengal one....

None of your offensive talent means shit without the Ol...and while the Bengals did fairly well....the advantage would still reside with the Steelers going into 2005....

by less than a TD sure, and on a horrible pass interference call....but your right, your team did win...but with what we have added this year, and what you lost... I expect in all honesty to split the series each of us winning at home...this year.
