Congratulations Kirk Cousins.

I guess when you talk, people listen.

Just a few days after Cousins said he wants to be the Redskins starting quarterback next season or be traded, ESPN Cleveland is reporting that the 26-year-old is their “prime target” as they search for a new signal caller for next season.

Cousins–who was drafted out of Michigan State by current Browns’ OC Kyle Shanahan in 2012–has posted a QBR under 40.0 over the last two seasons, making eight starts and playing in parts of 11 games for the Redskins, so it shouldn’t take much more than a late round pick to acquire him.

The Browns–who have the misfortune of going into next season with Johnny Manziel, Connor Shaw, and (possibly) Brian Hoyer on the quarterback depth chart–tried to pry Cousins away from the Redskins last year for a 4th round pick. At the time the Redskins (laughably) wanted “at least a 2nd rounder.”

Expect the disgruntled Cousins to be donning burnt orange very soon, and add even more mystery to what head coach Mike Pettine plans to do at quarterback for 2015.
