May 23, 201510 yr comment_1452055 I have to eat crow. I was happy when Walt took over the reigns and thought we were headed in the right direction. I was terribly mistaken. He has driven us into a ditch, all for a couple one and done's in the playoffs. Krivsky was the guy to take this team to the title. They went from a brilliant GM who knew how to run a small market team to a GM who only knew how to run a big market team. It shows as every big money deal he has made has been terrible and the farm system is empty now. The farm system was loaded when Krivsky was unfairly let go. Report

Price was thrown out by crew chief Jim Reynolds after the lineup cards were exchanged. The two had a lengthy heated argument that continued as the Indians players took the field. Reynolds then threw out Price. The discussion continued before Price finally went to the dugout and returned to the clubhouse. It's unclear what led to the argument, although several Reds players were unhappy with plate umpire Manny Gonzalez's strike zone Friday night. Cincinnati has lost a season-high six straight games and is 18-23, its worst record of the season. The ejection was the second of the season for Price and the fourth of his career. Report
May 25, 201510 yr comment_1452243 So who is the first chip to fall? Cueto? Chapman? Leake? I think Cueto sticks around until close to the deadline. Hopefully some team gives us all kinds of prospects for him. Wouldn't be entirely shocked to see Price fired fairly soon either. Report

May 26, 201510 yr comment_1452467 http://www.redreporter.com/2015/5/26/8660591/reds-johnny-cueto-elbow-mri Pull quote: The bullpen lagged horribly, the bargain-bin signings ofKevin Gregg and Jason Marquis proved to be as inept as they appeared on paper, and the should-be nail in the coffin came in the form of a degenerative hip condition for the also recently extended Devin Mesoraco, an injury that will also require surgery and end the All Star catcher's season. And As FoxSports.com's Jon Morosi noted this morning, the Reds will find out whether their biggest trade chip - ace starter Johnny Cueto - will be back in the rotation and hurling gems within the week, or will be facing an injury that could derail everything. Johnny Cueto is expected to undergo an MRI on his elbow today. His agent, Bryce Dixon, said Cueto is optimistic the issue is fatigue. — Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) May 26, 2015 What a disaster this season has been... Report

May 27, 201510 yr comment_1452632 I wonder if anyone would be willing to take Votto's contract? If the Reds are going to "blow it up", might as well shed big contracts if possible. Unfortunately were probably stuck with Bailey, with his arm situation and all. See if we can get anything for Phillips as well. Definitely been a disappointment to say the least. Report

May 28, 201510 yr Author comment_1452645 Yeah, I almost wonder if it would be better to try to get out from under Brandon/Joey's contracts or get some prospects. Sounds like Cueto will net a good one but not great, whereas we could get some actual talent if we got out from under some of these shitastic contracts. Plus is sounds like we have some decent pitching coming up the ranks. Report

They are already set in stone (contract wise) so we'd probably have to settle for possibly "less talented" prospects. With Cueto and Chapman, in my opinion, we'd have a better shot at "more talented" prospects given that their contracts could be negotiated by their new team. Report

If someone took Phillips for free that'd be great. And if we got even just a little for Votto that is cool too. Just gotta get financial flexibility back. You can't give out massive long term contracts like that if you are the Reds. They need to realize they most operate like the Twins/Rays/A's. They are a small market team. If you are going to overpay someone you need to do it short term and go all in for a 2-3 year period not give huge deals for most of a decade. Report
