According to several reports, the cause of death was a heart attack. Cook signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2001 out of Bethune-Cookman. He spent the 2001 season with the Bears after the Ravens released him, but Cook rejoined the Ravens from 2002-2004.
