Carson Palmer could be facing fine for crotch-chop at Seattle fans

On the same day that the question of whether Panthers quarterback Cam Newton celebrates excessively was debated both off the field and on it, Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer did something for which he could be fined by the league.

Taunting the Seattle crowd after the Andre Ellington touchdown run that iced the 39-32 win over the Seahawks, Palmer made the universally-recognized Triple H crotch-chop gesture.

Rule 12, Section 3, Article (1)(c) defines unsportsmanlike conduct as “sing baiting or taunting acts or words that engender ill will between teams.” Note 4 specifically prohibits “throat slash; machine-gun salute; sexually-suggestive gestures; prolonged gyrations; or stomping on a team logo.”

The 2015 fine schedule allows a maximum fine of $11,576 to be imposed for unsportsmanlike conduct, whether or not it’s penalized.

If the league determines that Palmer’s crotch chop constitutes a “sexually-suggestive gesture” (and not a pitch for a new product), he could be making an involuntary donation to the NFL’s charities, just in time for the holidays.

He'll get a fine for that? Really? What kind of pussy ass league is this becoming? Fuck, I hate Palmer as much as the next guy, but Jesus, this is a whole lot to do about nothing.
