Jamie_B
How would a patient know about a medication, especially a new one without the commercial? And what is wrong with a commercial? I was talking about the patient and doctor talking about options for treatment. Do you think that would not happen with out these commercials? As far as what I view as wrong with them, it's money not spent on actual health care. CincyInDC
How would a patient know about a medication, especially a new one without the commercial? And what is wrong with a commercial? What Jamie said plus television distorts the truth, which I assume is the point T-Dub was making with his giant, purple, murderous moth comment. Getting informed about your healthcare options by a marketing department is probably not a wise move, and it makes us all worse off when ad dollars are spent instead of R&D dollars. Of course if they don't spend on ads, that money will probably be shipped to shareholders. Patients getting informed about new drugs and procedures is important, and there are better places where they can get informed, namely print media and the internet. Patients just have to turn off the idiot box, get their hands out of the Doritos bag and look stuff up.

Don't be trying to bring in your European socialist commentary here and telling me to put away my Doritos and stop watching the tv. That shit will never stop! Where do you think I get 75% of my views on things? How do you expect me to think if there is no tv telling me what to think?!?! Damn hippies.
