Hooky
A little help, please. I know absolutely nothing about this game except it's rated M. My 12 year old boy wants it, but was wondering how M it is.
JC
12? He's probably gotten a handjob by this point so he should be alright. In all seriousness, I'm about to get it for xmas from the significant other. I've never gotten one, but I don't think this is a game where you can go into the strip club and get a virtual lapdance with real virtual silicon tits. I think its more M from the standpoint of blood and gore.
Ben
I have quite a few hours in this game and so far just a lot of murdering every living being you come across. There is a romance element i guess, cant imagine it is too crazy. http://segmentnext.com/2015/11/10/fallout-4-romance-guide-how-to-romance-every-companion/
Hooky
Thanks. I figured it was just violent, but you never know.
ValleyBengal
Age old argument. Violence, gore, shooting people's head off (which happens in this game) is OK, but god forbid there is a boob on screen and all hell breaks loose. Why does it matter? It's an M game, and your kid at 12 already knows more about porn, sex and the female anatomy than you think he does. I speak from experiences from what my 13 year old told me recently. And my 9 year old recently came home and told me one of his friends showed him boobs on his phone and knows it's not about the birds and the bees any longer, because, you guessed it, friends out of their kindness of their heart, told him that sex is when a men puts his penis into a woman's vagina. So, innocence lost I guess, but he's still the same kid, regardless, just a bit more educated. So, your son is not going to be "damaged" by what he sees in a video game whether its boobs or exploding heads . The key is communcating with your kids about what they hear or experience, so that they get the right perspective on violence and sexuality. JC
No way. Preserve his innocence. The longer he doesn't know women are the devil, the better.

I don't really need parenting tips, I just wanted to get a feel for what the game is like so I can make a decision. And to get an idea if he would even like the game. He would probably be annoyed by the romance stuff, he's not into that yet. And as JC (half-jokingly?) posted, that's good. There is no hurry for that.
