|BlackJesus|
To me there are only 5 players worth the #24 pick that the Bengals could use. If these 5 below are all gone, I would trade back for more picks. Laquon Treadwell, WRCorey Coleman, WRJaylon Smith, OLB Ashawn Robinson, DT Leonard Floyd, OLB

|BlackJesus|
No linebackers? To me LB is the weakest position in the whole draft, with only 7 guys on my Wish List total and 3 of them are first rounders who will all likely be gone by pick 24 ... Jaylon Smith, Ragland, and Floyd. Thus, in that mock, there wasn't any comparative value. I do like Eric Striker and De'Vondre Campbell in the mid rounds 3-4, but only if other guys are already gone. |BlackJesus|
I can't see Jaylon Smith lasting until the 3rd round, but if he did, you have to take him. In fact, I would take him with pick #24, and redshirt him since tests show he won't play next season (like with Cedric). Normally I would say never to draft an injured player in the first round with that much risk, but because I think he's the #1 overall player if healthy (I think he'd have went #1 to the Titans if not injured) then he is well worth the 50/50 chance to me that he recovers fully. As for Doctson, I'm not a fan, and really only like Treadwell and Coleman as round 1 WR.
Jason
If Jaylon Smith is still there at 55 I would have a hard time passing on him.
sparky151
Shawn Oakman was recently arrested for sexual assault. He'll probably go undrafted if the charges are unresolved on draft weekend.
|BlackJesus|
Shawn Oakman was recently arrested for sexual assault. He'll probably go undrafted if the charges are unresolved on draft weekend. Yeah. Then, again Jameis Winston raped a woman and was still drafted #1, so who knows how much that hurts your draft stock. If he did it, then yeah you don't want him on your team. But I guess I will withhold judgment until more facts of the case come out. I am wondering how many cops the WACO PD sent to pick him up though ... half a squadron?

SocalBengalEd
I want Karl Joseph now. Dude is Vontaze Burfict in a safety body. Havent seen a safety hit with such force since Ronnie Lott. He would start over Williams or could back him up and be a back up if or when a safety gets injured. Joseph is nasty.
|BlackJesus|
Oakman=HuntWhile his attributes are similar, I'm not sure the comparison is fair. Oakman had 11 sacks in 2014 playing for Baylor and is a football player. Hunt, was an Olympian who took up football in college for the first time ever. I actually think Oakman is more similar to Michael Johnson, which is why I think he would fit nicely onto the Bengals in the rotation. Oakman is great against the run as an LE and his lack of pass rushing ability is made up for with his stoutness and 36 inch long arms that grab any RB coming his way. |BlackJesus|
I fear that if the Bengals want Treadwell or Coleman they have to trade up to at least #20 ... as the teams picking 21,22,23 all need WR's and there could be a run on them, leaving the Bengals out of the mix. |BlackJesus|
Trading up for a 5'11 WR doesn't sound like a great idea As you can tell by my Draft Wish List, I like size at all positions, which includes WR. However, to me Coleman is one of the rare talents that is better by being 5'11 as it helps his quickness and agility etc. 2 years of highlights below ... Good chance Oakman ends up in jail. Can't even think about taking him in 3rd round. Kearse is okay.McGowan and Wilson aren't good players. Not sure how they help the team in any way. I see fast outrunning future ESPN Ocho broadcasters. Good hands & he makes some contested catches but I don't see him out-jumping anybody. Looks a future slot guy, if he can block, & that kind of player is hanging around in just about every round of the draft. Often the big difference is what NCAA conference they played in or being in a championship program. A first-round player should jump off the tape like "Holy Shit". For that matter a WR in 1 should be capable of pushing AJ. Tall order, yeah, but WR1 potential at least. It's only a few minutes of downfield bombs but I'm not seeing that here.
