Simply saying that the US spends more per student on average means little when the richer kids are getting more funding than the poorer kids. The distribution matters. The richer kids do not receive more money. Most rich kids go to schools like St X, Moeller, CHCA, Summit Country Day etc. They are funded by their tuition. My kids go to Springboro schools. We don’t get anywhere close to the same money as Dayton city schools. We have to pay $350 for our kids to play a sport. 2 kids, $700. That is PER sport. Sure, we could pass a new levy but it hasn’t happened in 20 years despite all our efforts. Since our school tests well we get minimal federal aid. Catholic schools spend less per student then public schools. Wealthy educated 2 parent families demand their children do well on the whole. The overwhelming majority of people look down on these idiots. The response in Dayton to the 9 guys that showed up is pretty much how their movement has been heading.
