ESPN reports that Bill Belichick and the Patriots videotaped opposing teams’ signals from 40 different games from 2000 through 2007. And when the scandal broke, Goodell did everything in his power to protect Robert Kraft, who was one of his strongest supporters and without whom he would not have been named commissioner.

To be fair, there are a surprising number of NFL fans that don't realize that it's not illegal to tape signals. Is that quote saying that they were illegally taping signals from 40 different games? If not, that's like saying "Tom Brady completed a forward pass to Rob Gronkowski. THAT'S NOT FAIR!" Also, is there proof or did some guy just decide to make these claims with nothing to back it up? Kind of hard to say something was proven when there aren't any facts involved.

It's surprising to me that otherwise intelligent people throw it all out the window when there's a way to "prove" how the Patriots aren't a great team, they just "cheat a lot".

I think non-Pats fans spend more time talking about the team than their own fanbase.
