Dre vs. Ced

Recommended Posts

I didn't see any major mistakes by Ced. It seemed like we were on a platoon system. Smith - Fisher, Ced - Smith, Ced - Fisher, alternating every drive. I think Adam Jones and WJ III are alternating also, along with JR Redmond and TJ Johnson at RG. One sack was a clear miscommunication between Bodine and Redmond. Another was Fisher getting his ass whooped.

It looks like they're rotating him in after a bad play or even just semi-regular.  You can see Alexander in the bg going over pictures, etc... So from the looks of it, Smith comes in so that they can give some in-game coaching to Ced and Fisher.

Ced has gotten better with each week... Still bad, but better. Fisher has fallen off a cliff. He's been getting his ass handed to him by nobodies for the last two weeks. He's 10-ply.

We gotta dance with the girl we brought, so nothing to do at this point but sit back and hope the Offensive line figures it out over the next 12 games. The die was cast when we let Whit go. (I mean, christ, if it's 50/50 that they can play, why not keep Whit as a backup for both positions... Offer him a few years? Grrrrr......)

And for now the Rams have the #1 offense and their line looks pretty good...

Ced is on track to be the next David Verser.

No one cared when first round pick WR flopped because 2nd round pick at the same position was Offensive Rookie of the Year.

But when Cedric flops Fisher is the 2nd round pick at the same position.

Always a sign of greatness, that.  Where other teams might make these kinds of decisions in training camp, we will show a stubborn unwillingness to shit or get off the pot while losing games.  How hard is it to play the guy who gives you the best chance at winning? To hell with the 2nd guy's potential.  We're into October with only a win against the Browns to show for it and we're still having a derby for OL? WTF? You have practice all week for just that reason; that's where everyone gets to prove who should play on Sunday.  Guys should be proud to earn those starts and instead we're making them share like teacher caught them with a bag of Jolly Ranchers.  Weak ass shit.

If these coaches honestly don't know who to play perhaps they are in the wrong profession.

What if.......

Andre was #6 overall for a reason: he was a unanimous All-American/Outland Trophy winner at what position....wait for it...LT?

Maybe, he's home. So, maybe he gets comfortable at the spot, and problem solved. He's only 30--it's not like they have aversions to 30-something tackles. Give him a new 2-year deal, and keep looking. Use Ced and Fisher as guards or TE's or whatever until you find better people.

Whichever one looks better gets some snaps in their Jumbo/goal line sets, FG team or w/e & is first off the bench if someone's hurt.  You know, like an NFL depth chart instead of a youth soccer camp.
