The Bengals job, if nothing else, is secure. No matter how poorly you perform, everyone will blame the Brown family.

David Shula, Bruce Coslet, and Dick Le Beau beg to differ.

People who don't think Marvin Lewis was handicapped by working for the Brown family are just deceiving themselves.

Mike Brown's record with Marvin Lewis............... 118-103-3   .533

Mike Brown's record with 3 other head coaches...  52-124-0   .295

I think most people probably realize this. Mike Brown isn't gonna fire himself so you have to make a change at the next most important position with the team and hope to strike gold with a miracle worker for coach. I think it's apparent to even Marvin, the coarse has been run.

So statistics prove Marv is 3.3 100ths of a percent better than .500

About as close as mediocre as one can get.

And we have three games to go and I am now writing off the Bears with

so many starters out.

Going to be cold and miserable, tickets going for as low as $19 on stub hub.

Looks like an easy drive home.

::::::::: addition :::::::::::::;

NAME POSITION INJURY WED. THU. FRI. GAME STATUS
Amos, Adrian S Hamstring DNP DNP DNP Doubtful
Bellamy, Joshua WR Illness - DNP FP -
Bush, Deon S Ankle FP - - -
Callahan, Bryce CB Knee FP - - -
Goldman, Eddie NT Hip DNP DNP DNP Doubtful
Houston-Carson, DeAndre S Ankle LP LP LP Questionable
McPhee, Pernell OLB Shoulder DNP DNP DNP Doubtful

Above is the Bears injury report going into the game.  I don't know who any of these guys are but certainly not six of their starters.

This may look like a preseason game.

Dream:

Josh McDaniels

Chris Petersen

Want:

Matt Nagy

John DeFilippo

Russ Grimm

Harold Goodwin

Acceptable, but eh:

Paul Guenther

Darren Simmons

Jim Bob Cooter

Darrin Simmons is acceptable?  Woof!  In that case why not Alexander?

Simmons has actually been very good at his job.  Alexander has not.  Also STs coaches tend to be pretty solid HCs and don't get overly involved in the OC or DC jobs.  They seem to be more aggressive in their game management too.  All things I'd like to see that we didn't get from Marvin.

I don't see how anyone on this staff is acceptable. It's not like Guenther or Simmons's units are tearing it up out there this season.

The D was ranked pretty high until recently and that was without ANY assistance from the offense.  I still want external but knowing how Brown has only hired externally once if we were stuck internal those are the only 2 even worth a consideration.

There are better Defensive Coordinators out there who deserve HC jobs. Does Vic Fangio not deserve a HC job over Guenther? What about the young guy from Seattle? No one internal is worth anything. I wouldn't be happy unless every coach on the staff is shown the door. They all have contributed to this.

Watching the Ravens come back from 14-0. It’s amazing to see a well-coached team with players who don’t run for cover after taking a punch. What a gutless bunch of stiffs that currently inhibit this Bengals organization.

It’s refreshing to see coaches who are able to overcome things during the game. Perhaps Harbaugh does more than clap like a friggin special ed student.

it is.... it just makes me more pissed about the current situation in Cincy...

I truly believe that the Rats have less talent than the Bengals and look what they are doing this year... shit drives me nuts

I swear if ole marv is back next year.....there will be one less loyal fan....
