Osweiler had made $40.5 mil in 7 years and I won't even waste time with his stats,.. ah what the fuck. No pro bowls, 1-1 in the playoffs, lifetime record of 12-13, 76.5 rating, 6171 yards (146 per game LOL) and 31 TDs. Dear Lord.
turningpoint
Shows how drafting a #1 qb can really open up room in your roster...ie eagles and Rams currently.

If the QB turns out to be a good one. Draft busts are very common. And if the team actively pursues good UFAs. And if the team drafts other good players as well. The problem with the Bengals is that we can't just copy the method of another team because we operate in a very different manner and have very different personnel currently in place. The same way we can't just copy the Patriots blueprint because we don't have the GOAT HC and QB to build around. There honestly isn't an exact science behind winning regardless of what anyone will say. Some teams win built through the draft, some teams win with a bunch of free agents, some win with a mediocre QB, some win with a great QB, etc. etc.

And the 90's show how missing on those picks can really set your franchise back. It's a High risk/High reward proposition. You're buying stock in a startup instead of Microsoft.
