If I didn't post like I do, this part of the forum would be pretty much be a barren wasteland. With that said, if anyone wants me to add opposing views from my own, or stop posting so much, here is the place to let me know. I'm not trying to flood this forum with just my own views. I actually would love more discussion rather than being in an echo chamber. The only way we're going to even attempt to bring this Country back together is by trying to understand each other more. I would love rational opposing views that don't turn into "my side is never wrong" or the couple guys who just drop in here to troll and run and never discuss. I realize I tend to get that way sometimes, (well except the run part), although troll isn't the right word, not sure what word I'm looking for. Moreso just irritated with the other side that complained about things that Obama did but are quiet about Trump. Or even more irritated that think this guy is no different than the rest of them. Or the worst that know he isn't but don't care so long as they get their policy initiatives, and that this isn't dangerous precedents we're setting with this guy and how our system of governance works. It scares me that people seem to be ok with authoritarianism. As an example of someone on the other side that I used to have rational conversations with all the time, I miss Rick. This side of the forum was always a good conversation between two people who don't always think the same way when he and I discussed things. I would love more of that, because lately this place is nothing more than a shouting match between folks. Just understand that I will never be ok with Trump. He isn't a normal Republican and this isnt a normal time, and it's not ok, and that anyone who is ok with him, that scares me as it's not simply a matter of disagreement between politics or liberal vs conservative, this guy is different and dangerous in my mind, I wish more conservatives agreed with that and would stand up to him. While I think both sides are shit sandwiches (Yes Jamie, I KNOW you KNOW and disagree :LOL:), none of you really seem to be open to any opposing views what-so-ever. Old... I know you post things as you see fit and I have no problem with it, but you can probably see why anyone who doesn't have a liberal outlook would stay away from the "Liberal Mouse Club" and their "TOPGUN" oldschooler that you all have here. Brother... you post like there is no tomorrow (and with the way Trump is going you may be right). I say "carry on" smartly as well. That you all are involved and DO care says a lot to me about what kind of person you are... even when I disagree with what your viewpoint is. T-Dub... you're just a dick... If you look back through this forum you'll see I was once an "opposing"view. Times and some times people, change. I saw how Mitch McConnell said he wanted to make Obama a 1 term President. And went out of his way, governing be damned, to try and make that happen. I saw how they bashed Obama for having the audacity to take on our shitty health care system. I saw how he bent and gave them a voice and let them amend the ACA. I saw them turn and act like it was all his doing when their constituents shouted "Socialism" and they started calling it ObamaCare. I saw how a lot of Conservative friends and family became upset and down right racist because there was a black guy as President. I saw how Trump and others tried to delegitimize Obama by acting like he wasn't even an American. I saw how the Conservatives made policies and plans that has shifted wealthy drastically to the top to the point there is barely a middle class. I could go on. But I just saw a lot of dirty politics. And the farther Right they all went, the farther Left they pushed me. Trump is the worst President in my lifetime. I mean I see him all the time at the White House, talking in front of the Presidential Seal, all the stupid, inflammatory shit he says, how down right stupid he is, all of the dirty, immoral unethical shit he does, and I see people acting like he's great. It makes me feel like I'm living in a bad movie. But with all that said, I would love for us Americans and the others that call this home, to start trying to hear and understand each other. I would love for us to start talking about what brings us together instead of what divides us. I would love to see us talk about the things that divide us and it not turn into "you're the enemy". We are all Americans. Russia, China, North Korea, Isis, the Taliban, terrorist and even bullets don't give a fuck what are views our. So I wish we'd start coming together if for no other reason than "Divided we fall". My grandma told me when I was younger, my voice is just as good and loud as anyone's. Use it. But she also told me I have 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason. Listen more than you talk. So I'd like to take a pause and listen every once in awhile too. Anyway. Doesnt mean I agreed with him, but we were able to rationally discuss our differing views. I just miss conservitives that used to believe that Government can be a tool to help people, even if we disagreed on how to best use it. IDK, I think I'm quite open to opposing views, even if I think they are bullshit. I'm always willing to reconsider when presented with new information.
