3 Round Mock

Recommended Posts

Admittedly, I haven't done a whole lot of research on players but here it is anyways.

Fire away!  :)

Round 1 - Center - James Daniels - Iowa

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/james-daniels?id=32462018-0002-5600-48e1-4044bbc76ad1

Reason for pick:  Pretty obvious we need a Center.  I would have considered Billy Price here

but the site had him listed as a "Guard" and I didn't notice it until afterwards.  He went in the

2nd round to the Redskins.

Round 2 - OT - Orlando Brown - Oklamoma

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/orlando-brown?id=32462018-0002-5598-966e-c097dcfe7190

Reason for pick:  We need all the OL help we can get!  He didn't have the best combine obviously

but he's got things that can NOT be taught.  Size, (6' 5" 345 lbs & 35 inch arms).  Could more than

likely plug him in at RT from day 1.

Round 3 - TE - Hayden Hurst - South Carolina

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/hayden-hurst?id=32462018-0002-5600-72f9-7623b6673aa8

Reason for pick:  If I recall correctly, all 3 TE's will be FA's following the 2018 season.  He'll be

25 at the start of the 2018 NFL season so he won't grow any more physically probably BUT he's

not reached his "potential" as a TE yet.  He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates out of high school

in 2012 and walked on at South Carolina in 2015 so he obviously is athletic.  Had 100 receptions at

South Carolina and only 1 dropped pass.  (How many times have we, as Bengals fans, lost our shit

over dropped passes!?)  lol

Round 3 - CB - Duke Dawson - Florida

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/duke-dawson?id=32462018-0002-5600-21da-5c2f1a37df8f

Reason for pick:  Dawson will probably be a "nickel/slot" CB.  Dennard will be a FA following the

2018 season.  Possible replacement for Dennard unless he, (Dennard), just blows up this season

and even then, he'll come a lot cheaper.

I can dig Daniels at 21. Not a huge fan of Brown because he's either incredibly lazy or the least athletic person in combine history. He has decent tape though and would be an upgrade at RT. Hurst is a borderline first round pick.

Not a fan of Daniels at all. He's very bad. We would be drafting another ogbuehi if we draft him. He can't handle the bull rush and has no ability to reachor. Would rather take Hernandez or bpa in the first and Frank rangow in the second who is the second best center in the draft. And as far as brown, my opinion hasn't changed. 4th round grade before the combine, 4th round grade now. Dude can't handle speed rushers bc he has horrible footwork and is lazt. Got 100 pounds on dlineman and it's him who gets pushed back at line of scrimmage.as far as Hurst? He's the 4th best te in this class after goedert, gesecki, and fumagali. Tied with andrews. Only reason Andrews isn't better is because of his injury issues.

I haven't done a lot of research and the site I did the draft on had Billy Price listed as a "Guard".  I probably

would have selected Price over Daniels myself but I didn't see him listed under "Center".  I later found this

thing on NFL.com that graded each player at each position.  Take it with a grain of salt like anything else it's

just one person's opinion and I couldn't tell you who compiled the list but here's the site.  They have Daniels

graded at 6.00, Price at 5.90 and Ragnow at 5.75.

https://www.nfl.com/draft/tracker/prospects/C?college=allColleges&page=1&status=ALL

They have Brown rated at 6.12 which makes him the highest rated OT in this draft class.

As for the TE's, that site has Gesicki rated at 5.92, Hurst at 5.88, Goedert at 5.87 and Thomas

at 5.82.  Not much separating the top 4.  Hurst was available with our first 3rd round pick so I

jumped on him.

Like I mentioned, I haven't done a whole lot of research up to this point.  That TE you mention, (Fumagalli),

is rated #14 on that site I posted.  Like I said though, take it with a grain of salt.  I have no clue to be honest.

That's just silly.
