Our Offensive Line and Running Game STINKS!

There were questions on Munoz's health/injury status when we drafted him and that seemed to work out pretty well.

No comparison. At the time of the draft Munoz was 100% healthy. His knee was tested on weight machines and it was so strong he supposedly broke a couple of them. He played in the Rose Bowl before the draft. No comparison

Ced was mentioned as a first round pick in almost every mock draft and mostly for the Panthers.  Nobody expected him to get to round 2.  Fisher was mentioned in a few mocks near the end of round 1.  No way he was going to round 3.

He was projected as a late first/early 2nd. I still say that it was far too risky to take at #21. This guy rated the pick a B- at the time.

SI gave us a B for the pick.  BTW, Cedric's knee has not been an issue, his lack of talent has been.   The Cardinals picked OT DJ Humphries 3 picks after Ced.  He was been a bigger bust which seems difficult.

Maybe they would have had a better idea of his lack of talent if the knee injury didn't prevent them from working with him.  Or maybe they based the pick on ketchup.

Obviously Ced is a Miracle Whip kind of guy.

IIRC, he missed all/most of the season with the knee and only played in the Rose Bowl.

Not sure about weight machines but I know he became The Man when he pancaked rookie coach Forrest Greg on his ass at a try out.

Not sure what Oggie's injury history was, tbh, and not disagreeing/arguing with you but simply stating my opinion that once in a while even a guy

gets a bad injury rap.

Frankly, I don't think Oggie could knock Mike Brown on his ass any day of the week

And Katie could knock Oggie ten yards behind the line of scrimmage.  Every seen her calfs?

Heeeyyyyyy... maybe that's the answer.  Katie for ORT.

Can I get a "Dilly! Dilly!"

Your recollection meets with mine. Granted hindsight is 20:20 but we do have that now and it's official: Ced O was a suck draft pick. We missed on Fisher too. That hurt to miss on two back to back in the same draft at the same position

Just watched Ogbuehi whiff on a run block & the RB lose a yard or two.  Looked like he wasn't even trying.  Totally jogging on the sweep play just now & blocking nobody.

It's one thing to suck but another to not try.  Fuck this guy, get him out of here.

Come on, Bro, Logic and reality are not needed here.  We need hysteria and condemnation!  Please get with the program!😣😣

I've been waiting and hoping, but as I mentioned in the duplicate thread of this same premise, Ced was still out there on the last drive of the last pre-season game and not remarkably effective, so one would have to think he's done.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hart got beat bad a couple times, and BILLY Price got steamrolled once.  However, all-in-all, the O-Line played as well or maybe even a little better than I expected they would with all things considered.  LOTS of new players, pre-season is not much more than vanilla touch football, so the gang didn't have much time together.  They'll get better IMHO.  I know the Colts aren't the best defensive line, but like Jason said, I'll take it.

For how great our D-Line is supposed to be, and how weak the Colts O-Line is reported, it was the D-Line that I was a bit disappointed with today.

DL started to show up as the coverage tightened up.  They were hamstrung by all the flags, too.

A lack of sac has been Oblowme's main problem.  Neither he nor Fisher are worth a second contract & Hart is little more than a placeholder (if that).  Still pissed they didn't better address the right side over the offseason (especially RT).  They need at least 2 OT's over the next couple of offseasons - a starting RT & someone to groom/backup Glenn at LT).

Hart struggled badly today.  I think he surrendered both sacks and had several other mistakes.  He won't be starting much longer if he's as bad as he was today.

Overall, I think the o-line did enough to win the game and I am encouraged except for the play of Hart.  There were plenty of mistakes like Price getting steamrolled early leading to an interception.  But the running game looked better than many expected and the offense was able to string together scoring drives in the 2nd half when they absolutely needed it.  It's far from a finished product and I am sure there will be ups and downs all season.  I saw enough to think the o-line can be competent unlike last year.
