So, it looks like...

OUT
Preston Brown

Tyler Kroft

Josh Malone

Nick Vigil

Adolphus Washington

DOUBTFUL

AJ Green

It appears Mixon, Dennard, Burfict, Firstpatrick, Redmond, Rey and Ross are likely to be in the lineup.

Bad, but a little better with the walking wounded playing.

CINCINNATI -- The Bengals placed tight end Tyler Kroft on injured reserve on Friday, ending his season several weeks after he broke a bone in his foot against the Dolphins on Oct. 7.

The reason behind the delay was the hope that Kroft could eventually come back this season if everything went right. But it was clear after Kroft remained in a walking boot several weeks later that things weren't progressing as they had hoped.

Kroft said he met with numerous doctors and specialists to try to figure out a solution but also indicated in October that everything needed to go perfectly to plan for him to be able to come back.

"It's been weird," Kroft said on Oct. 24. "It started the first day. We thought something was going to happen, and the next day comes around, and we're ... it's evolving every week, honestly. We're trying to keep that in mind, and we're doing everything we can to come back this year and not prolong it."

Kroft stayed in the game after his injury occurred despite hearing a "pop" that indicated a bone was broken.

"We knew what had happened to it and felt like I could push through it and go," he said.

Kroft is the fourth Bengals tight end to go down following Cethan Carter(shoulder) in training camp, Tyler Eifert (broken ankle) in September and Mason Schreck (knee) in October.

"Coming into the year we thought we were a pretty deep position group. It's awful how snake-bitten we've been this year," he said.

The Bengals promoted tight ends Jordan Franks off their practice squad on Oct. 23. and Matt Lengel off the Texans practice squad on Oct. 10. Eifert, who is out for the season, was still in a walking boot and on crutches as of Friday.

Linebacker Brandon Bell was promoted off the practice squad in Kroft's place due to injuries to Preston Brown, Vontaze Burfict and Nick Vigil.

I guess that answers that.

This Franks fellow looks interesting. Was noticing him during pre-game warm ups this past Sunday in the stadium. Really good size, and seemed to look fairly fast. I believe he had a decent route/catch against Tampa IIRC.

Hopefully he gets a chance and does something to get excited about...can he block?..

Comforting to know Marvin's pet, Hardy Nickerson will be replacing him while

third round draft choice, Malick Jefferson, sits on the bench with Auden Tate

who isn't as good as Cody Core.

However, not to worry.  Marv hired friend Hue Jackson to ... ummm... ummm... ummm...

Wonder if MikeandKatie will finally fire Marv when we lose to Cleveland this Sunday?

It's probably like pee wee football where he's playing Nickerson because his dad asked him to.

And BenJarvus Green-Ellis had never fumbled in his career (college or NFL) before joining the Bengals. He fumbled 3 times in his first month as a Bengal, losing all 3. There's just something about this franchise.

Goodberry

@JoeGoodberry
Preston Brown never missed a game and played about 99% of the total snaps in his four seasons with Buffalo.

Theres this boys.

Not sure why that tweet was in there from Katherine Terrell.

That something being, in the case of BJGE, footballs inflated to the required pressure.

The Bengals LB corps is the worst in the NFL. Chubs Burfict has been terrible, Evans is a liability and Vinnie Rey has all but disappeared. Hardy Nickerson shouldn't even be playing in the NFL. Kid is GAH-BAGE. I can't believe I'm saying this but, they need Nick Vigil back ASAP. The Bengals talent pool is quickly deteriorating. You can easily point to poor drafting over the past 4 or 5 years, specifically in 2014 and 2015 as the reason why.

They need major help on the offensive line, TE, LB and in the Secondary. They also need some major depth help at WR. This is more than one draft can now help. At best, I would re-sign Dennard, Kroft and Uzomah during the offseason and dedicate their remaining resources to significant upgrades in the free agent market.

My guess is that Nickerson is the only one who is smart enough to make the on field calls with Brown and Burfict both out.

That said, he just missed an open field tackle on this guy....
