That would be the smart way to handle things. Do the same to AB if he doesn't straighten up his act. The New York Giants are the poster child for this mentality. Taking a running back at #2 when there was a franchise QB staring at them was asinine. Manning has not been a top 10 QB in years. They have not won a playoff game in 7 years and have only been to the playoffs once in 6 years. Manning has OBJ but can't break the 90s in passer rating. This year over 50% of his passes have been 1 yard passes to Barkley who is averaging 6 yards a catch. Mack thing, although he's a very impactful defensive player, I was kinda amazed how much the Bears gave up for him. If it gets to the point where you've decided you won't/can't sign a guy then by all means, trade him for 2 1st rounders and change. That works for both teams. The accusations in 2010 were no surprise to many, many people & I have a hard time believing they came as a shock to his team or the NFL either. They both do pretty thorough background checks on these guys so there's no way they didn't at least hear some rumors. They just routinely ignore all that stuff until it becomes a story.
