He dove for his knees and ankles.  I don't see how that could not be a penalty but that's just High School Homer.

Also, in the same play, the running back has a false start that isn't called.

They only try to protect and I use that term loosely, qb's and wr's. Don't give a fuck about anybody else.

Bengals owner Mike Brown strongly objected to Vontaze Burfict fine

The NFL opted not to suspend Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict for fear of the reaction to having the punishment overturned on appeal. The $112,000 fine imposed on Burfict still provoked a strong reaction from the Bengals.

Per a league source, Bengals owner Mike Brown expressed to the league office in very specific and pointed terms his strenuous objection to the decision to punish Burfict in any way for lowering his helmet to hit Stealers running back James Conner and for putting a forearm in the helmet of Stealers receiver Antonio Brown.

Brown called the fine unfair and excessive, and he accused the league of improperly imposing discipline in situations where no fouls were called. (Neither infraction drew a flag.)

The Bengals owner also said that he has a significant disagreement with the league office on making the game safer, and that he believes the league’s current approach hurts the game and makes it less attractive to fans.

It’s an example of the many different and divergent opinions and viewpoints the league constantly finds itself trying to navigate. The Stealers (and others) wanted Burfict to be suspended, and the Bengals don’t even want him to lose a penny for his behavior.

Either way, he’ll lose more than a penny if he does it again. The league has warned him that the new violation will result in a suspension.

Atta boy Mikey!!

Let him keep posting......when he is on the computer my dog is banging his old lady.

  I don't understand why they feel the need to come on here to justify their whole teams dirty plays.  He's saying Vigil jumped? To me it looked like a result from the hit.

The entire past week was just fucking surreal.  Burfict tries to make a tackle, misses, his forearm kind of "bonks" Antonio Skidmark (but only in slo-mo) and... several "journalists" (including die-hard Steeler pole-smoker Mike Florio) call for Burfict's outright BAN from football?  The Rapist cries that he said a mean thing at the line?

And what happens?  The league fucking FINES Burfict for something that DIDN'T happen?  They fined him based on *assumed* INTENT?  What the fuck is next?  Why not just fine Burfict BEFORE every game, because OBVIOUSLY he's going to go in intending to kill somebody, right?  Doesn't matter if he even gets a flag thrown, he WANTED it to happen, the NFL Thought Police starring Mike Fucking Florio "just know it".

This game is fucking ruined boys, it's sad and pathetic.

Edit:  Forgot the best part.  Many of those talking heads screaming for Burfict's ouster kept saying he purposely used this FOREARM on Brown's HELMET, and that he'd DO IT AGAIN.  Well Jeezus H Fucking Christ guys, you should be EAGER for him to do that again, because you will enjoy the SHATTERED FOREARM he will eventually receive.  Really?  They REALLY think NFL players (and football players in general) actually try to give forearms/elbows to a HELMET as they fly in for a tackle?  This isn't fucking hockey guys, they WILL break their arm.  It really boggles the mind that people lap this shit up.
