MichaelWeston
Rams wanted Eifert last year. https://theramswire.usatoday.com/2018/03/15/nfl-los-angeles-rams-cincinnati-bengals-tyler-eifert-contract-free-agency/ This is a resounding yes from me. Re-sign him and Uzomah and then draft one in what is a very deep TE draft. Rest of group Schreck, Franks, Carter, Vollert, Bohringer, fight for spots. thezerawkid
I don’t think Eifert commands another 5.5 mil this year.

Yeah, if he hadn't been there, none of those other TE's would have gotten hurt, Amirite?

We would've had one more TE on our roster. Maybe even one that hasn't been injured 4 years in a row? An unsupervised toddler in a steel mill has better odds of staying healthy than Tyler Eifert. OU_Stripes
The simple answer: no. I was so unsurprised by his latest "freak" injury against the Falcons that I didn't even react to it. "Yep, that's about right." I don't want a player playing a major role in the way Taylor and co. design this offense if he isn't going to be on the field to execute it. He's great when he can play, but we've been saying that since 2015 (the last time he played).

Sign Tyler to league minimum deal with a shit ton of incentives, that's the only way I'd be interested in having him back.

Le Tigre
I always wonder how a person can be "incentivized" to not break an ankle?
T-Dub
Would everyone be happy with just giving him a million dollars but not signing him to a contract or anything? He still gets paid by the Bengals so that's reason enough to keep talking about him, but also has the benefit of not wasting a roster spot that could go to a TE that is actually able to play football. BengalFanInTO
I'd re-sign Eifert, Kroft and Uzomah. I have zero issue with these three being the Bengals TEs. And, why do we give a shit what they pay Eifert? The Bengals ended the season with more than $8 million in salary cap room in 2018 and that was after extending Atkins and Dunlap. membengal
I mean, the thing that made Eifert so iffy last year wasn't what he ended up missing time with. Freak injury and if he's recovered from the leg break, his shoulder and back issues should still be fine. We saw last year that he was beyond the back issues. I guess I would not mind him back at the right price.

The ankle is a freak injury, we’ve seen plenty of players come back from that.
|westside bengal|
Can u give a player an end of season roster bonus instead of the beginning? I mean give Tyler $1 million to start the season and another $4 million if he completes the season without getting hurt. 1/

How many freak injuries does he need to have every time he steps on the field before we admit they're not actually freakish and in fact completely predictable? Some of you act like he's the last TE on Earth or something. Draft another one and move the hell on already. Yeesh.

It's called a completion bonus. Agents hate those though as they shift the injury risk to the player. The team could also just structure it as he gets veteran base pay and a workout bonus, then 250K per game he's on the 46 man active roster.
