Ah yes...the "know the system" out card.

Seriously, Ken, did you happen to see Jerry attempt to play LT against the Colt nobodies? He was beyond awful--a complete fish out of water.

People always used to bash Dennis Roland-but at least he was an actual tackle, and not a career guard who has sat for a year. "Know the system" is not going to help this guy.

Roland started the last year Palmer was our QB.  Palmer ended up quitting. Coincidence?  I think not.

Dennis wasn't married to him but his wife was pregnant by Carson.

(just made that up, but could fit well into the conspiracy theory scenario)

Makes more sense than refusing to play here out of some sudden sense of integrity or whatever, immediately after signing a long-term extension & the team making roster moves at his request. He's lucky he played here where people are happy to blame the owner without questioning his story.

"100% wife-driven" seems pretty damned obvious to me but whatever... Ancient history now, or should be anyway.  Just a little annoying to see him play the victim card given the circumstances & the media never question him at all.

Rich Eisen (returning home after a long Sunday):  Carson what are you doing here? Did we have something scheduled?

Carson (zipping up his pants on the way out the door) : Something-something Mike Brown, amirite?

Rich: So brave! *single tear*

Too bad we couldn't trade him for an O lineman or a 6th round draft pick.

Doubt you could get much for Willis, but he is a useful player.  On the other hand keeping Willis and trading Lawson might get you a useful lineman.  I like Lawson, but with the growth of Hubbard he isn't going to see that much time, barring injuries.  It's the old you have to give up something to get something.

Dalton has 3 really good strengths, IMO ....a) he can read a defense very well  b) he gets the ball out on time  c) his arm is sneaky good.

I'm extremely curious to see how things play out if he and Taylor keep buying into one another.

Ginger kid might surprise the SHIT out of some people!

Career day in his first game under Taylor was definitely eye-opening

A career day that produced only 20 points, 2 fumbles and a loss. He has had far better days than this.

If the Bengals have no running game you can expect redzone trouble and turnovers.  Hard to pass in the redzone with no concern about the run.  That's not an Andy thing.

Also, that last fumble was BS.  He had a good game.  Can't do it all himself.

Yeah let's not act like Dalton didn't directly contribute to this loss by his fumbles and inconsistent play. Dalton in the 3rd quarter left a lot to be desired.

Sure he threw for a bunch of yards, but ultimately the Bengals lost a game they should have won.

I didn’t say he had a bad game but that was not a career game for him.  He has had far better games.  Knocking the Ravens out of the playoffs in 2017 on the road with a last second TD being one.

Far better games without AJ Green?  On the road in Seattle? With a 3rd string LT?  GTFO with that nonsense.  Considering the circumstances, that was one of his best performances by far.

2017, on the road, week 17 vs Ravens, they are playing for a playoff spot Bengals are playing for nothing.  Dalton takes the team 90 yards in the final 2 minutes of game and crushed their dreams.  Green caught a whole 2 catches for 17 yards in that game and was pretty much a non factor.  The starting tackles were Boling and Winston.  Westermann, Bodine and Hopkins rounded out the offensive line.  Dalton only got sacked 1 time.   The Bengals scored 31 points and Dalton threw 3 TDs no ints.

And don't forget, in the Seattle game all those yards equated to 3 second half points.  Good game by Dalton but it was still a loss.
