Be on the inactive roster every week freeing it up for guys like Nickerson and ...some other dupe.

Dumb moves.

Unless they are going to try to unload Malone for a 6th round draft pick.

Nickerson and Malone were released to make room for these guys.   I can see we're going to be more of a nickel-base defense but they have to pick up another LB somewhere, don't they?

yep.

I didn't see they were released for Larry and Curley (still looking for Moe)

until after I posted.

The Cleveland OLT sounds intriguing.  Has to be better than O'Shea Duga.

If we get him, how much of his salary are we responsible for?

How much of Malik Jefferson's salary are we responsible for?

1. I expect the Browns worked out some kind of deal ahead of time, but since they cut him he doesn't have a contract and we could theoretically sign him for vet minimum.  Cleveland has $600k in dead money from cutting him.  I'd love to see us throw 2-3x that at him & see if it sticks, but that's not a Bengals kind of move.

2. None of it, if I'm reading this right.  Not sure how he could count against the cap for the next three years and not be "dead money".  https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/malik-jefferson-25177/

2 fantastic pickups

1. Samaje Perine

Friends with Mixon and Anderson

Under contract for the next 2 years

Coached by Our OC's father on Redskins, (OL coach anyway, I assume run game coordinator)

Completes our rotation nicely with a Bruiser

603 yards as a rookie and had 22 catches.

2. Pharaoh Cooper

Coached by our head coach

Just 25 career catches but a Pro Bowl appearance as a KR in 2017

Injured in 2019

Gee, that's awesome...arguably the 2 strongest positions on the team so it totally makes sense, right?

Yeah, yeah, I know, there weren't any decent LT's or LB's available, so I get it, but still ironic to me though.

Better check the depth at RB before statements you made...

Traveon Williams is hurt and might not play the first couple of weeks.

Ah right.. I knew he was out but didn't know for how long.  Still..

We need bodies elsewhere but Gio is a vet blocker with good hands. Hang on to all & any of the blocking we might have.  He's made a lot of big plays here, I like Gio.

They aren't trading anybody.  Forget I mentioned it. :D

A savvy move of some kind just to add some depth would be nice to see. It will be cool to find out what this New-Dey squad can do, hopefully some of these guys step it up now that the games count.
