Fuck the Stealers

I assume he had a hand in the roster that Taylor inherited.  Regardless, I get the feeling he left behind a dysfunctional culture in the locker room and tolerated too much, but I wasn't there, so I'm just shooting from the hip.  I just don't see how he could be the head coach for 16 years and not be held to some accountability for the embers still smoldering in the dumpster.

So why not include Duke Tobin, the guy who is charge of player personnel, or does he not bear any responsibility for this dumpster fire? Did Marvin not resign Whit or Zeitler? Did he cut Burfict or draft only 1 LB and then refuse to play him?

The organization sold everyone it could that it was a New Dey, the Marvin Lewis era was over and it's all unicorns and rainbows from here on out. The front office could have turned over roster and brought in new players, but did the exact opposite. They brought back the same team except for a few draft picks that rarely play.

Marvin getting blamed for Taylor, Tobin, and the Brown family's failures is just dumb. Marvin made plenty of mistakes while he was here, but he also did some positive things and ultimately he has been gone for 8 months.

I agree with this.  At the end of the day the GM and his crew are responsible for evaluating current players, determining the strengths and weaknesses and mapping out a strategy to keep the good,  get rid of the bad and find BETTER replacements.  Certainly the coaching staff may have some input but the ultimate responsibility for acting is with the GM and for most clubs this is necessary and preferred.

The GM and owners on most clubs are not on the sideline hanging out with the players.  It was one of the reasons it took the Saints so long to become any good.  Tom Benson owned the team and loved hanging with the players.  This made it difficult to get rid of borderline players he was friends with.   It wasn't until Micky Loomis became the GM that the team began to compete.  Everyone knew from player to agent that he ran the show and Benson no longer made personnel decisions.  Loomis is NOT buddy buddy with the players at all.

The Browns are far too attached to players to make sound personnel decisions and it is hard to believe Tobin has the ability to make wholesale changes to the roster.  When you consider he lacks a full scouting department it should not come as a surprise.  Blaming Taylor or even Marvin for the current roster is a stretch.  The lack of a truly detached GM with the power to hire and fire is what has hurt this team for 30 years.

What that indicates is that players, as a rule, WANT to win and be accountable and achieve great things as a team. This organization simply can't comply, it is not built to win so frustration builds and that leads to apathy even to the most well intentioned players and coaches. Just imagine right now the conversations about the OL and LB's in the inner circle. Mikey saying 'he sees improvement' or "we have had unfortunate injuries" or something like that and someone like ZT pretty much saying the OL is garbage.

Over time here we will see if Zac has the balls to stand up for better players or just tow the line like Merv ended up doing. Mikey always wins in the end.

Meanwhile in Cincy Duke Tobin traded 20 old towels to the Dolphins for two large packets of original flavored Gatorade.

Will those dumb inbred fucks still say "Heeeeeeeeeth" every time he catches a pass?

Jar Jar Binks Shrimper will pull out and play with his pee pee to celebrate every time he makes a catch.

Or even if he doesn't make a catch or is not targeted or on the sideline when the D is on the field.

He is to the Stealers what Chuckie was is to the "Sons of Anarchy" and "Myans", a guy who

suffers from CMD (Compulsive Masturbation Disorder),

Good, good.  Why should we be the only team to dig ourselves into a hole it will take years to climb out of?  At least we will have draft picks.,   to spend on guys with huge red flags we will choose to ignore, as is tradition.
