Several years ago, I took a tour through JerryWorld. Part of it was touring the locker rooms and weight/training areas. I have also toured PBS facilities. If you took the stripes out of one, and the stars out of the other, you could not tell the difference. This bullshit about the Bengals not furnishing top quality facilities and equipment, is just that--bullshit. And fuck that indoor practice field--I've also toured the Star down in Dallas...a little glitzier, but no more functional than what is next door to PBS.

Spend a zillion dollars on a scoreboard..hoo boy, that will make the players gleeful.

It does, actually. They love to look at themselves.

If you don't think players would jump at the chance to play in Jerry World rather than PBS.....I really don't know what to tell ya, LT.

Exactly. And I am sure it is well known around the league that this team cares little about winning. Draft and develop but have only half a scouting staff and weak coaches? Yup, that speaks to wanted to win.

Bucky, my friend...

I like Chase Young.  A lot.  Would love to see him in stripes.
BUT...

Chase is a luxury.

There was a funny tweet on Sunday, a reporter said something like"Congrats on the last TD throw Daniel Jones, you just guaranteed 10 years of Chase Young driving your ass in the ground"..lol

No :ninja: or [cynicism] font but none necessary,

I, personally, just want to track who gets the second or so pick and would want to trade up

for Chase Young and allowing Joe Burrow to drop to us plus an extra pick or two.

Fantasy pick is Washington gives up on Gruden pick, The OSU quarterback, Haskins, and swap

positions (extra 2nd oe ao?) and they take Joe Burrow.  We take  Chase Young and become

The OSU South.  I would actually like this.

Would the Miami Hairy Blow Holes trade all three first rounders to get the first pick?

Would they make us an offer we can't refuse?

Would we take it?

Take Mariotta in Free Agency and draft three first round O linemen and Linebackers?

Our first pick in the second round will surely net us a first round slider.

I would do that.

I guess any blockbuster offer for the first selection in the draft would be worth looking

at and taking.  I'm sure MikeandKatie (who I do not dislike) and Meep from "American Horror

Freak Show" remember the massive blunder of turning down the Saints entire draft and

picking Akili Smith.

OR... we can keep the number one pick and take Joe Burrow.

So, you put names up on a wall--ever been in the main concourse at PBS? Plenty of names there. Spend a zillion dollars on a scoreboard..hoo boy, that will make the players gleeful. Trophy case...yeah you are right, there has to be something to put in it.

The Dallas players get first class everything to include media coverage even if they don’t deserve it. If you are saying playing in PBS is comparable to Jerryworld, you have never been to Jerryworld.  Dallas is also a first class city and doesnt have the Covington police nearby.

But somehow this "myth" about the Bengals stinginess lives on, decade after decade.

Because players talk to each other all the time.  FAs still don’t want to come here for a reason:  The team doesn’t invest in the off the salary cap personnel to win.  Scouts, a GM, experienced coaches, etc.

I do not doubt the team has made strides in this area but as SF2 pointed out the organization itself is not conducive to building a winning environment. The whole picture has to be looked at. I am sure many players and agents have also seen the Football Life episode with CP and that adds to the impression. Hard to defend that with a 1 win season and claiming the culture is changing.

He’s literally got the top rating under pff system since they started tracking this in the last decade when under pressure.

Picking a QB for the NFL is never a sure thing.  I remember the football gurus fighting over Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf.

I have no idea if Joe will make it or not but I do like how the OSU players talk about his time there.  They all loved the guy and had no doubt he would make it.  They all knew how hard Joe worked and progressed.  People forget Joe was the #2 behind Barrett when Haskins was a redshirt freshman and it was a battle for the # 2 spot between Burrow and Haskins in 2017 with many having Burrow ahead until Joe broke his hand in training camp and fell behind.

Chase Young told Justin Fields a while back that if Burrow was still at OSU that Fields wouldn't be.

Like I said one never knows for sure if a college QB will make it in the NFL but if my team was going to draft a QB then Joe would be my pick.

If you had the choice with a perfectly healthy Tua or Burrow, is Burrow still the chosen one?

I have no doubt that is true but there is way more to being a member of a professional sports team nowadays than that.  I imagine every NFL team has decent locker rooms and weight training facilities.  Where the Bengals are cheap are on the periphery.   In particular, the frugal spending on organizational personnel is profound.

I imagine this coaching staff is most likely the least paid staff in the league which, based on their resumes, they should be.   The scouting department is a joke.

The team regularly plays its first regular season game in the top 10 of still available cap space.  No surprise there.

And say what you want but the absolute refusal of the club to recognize its greatest players except maybe every 10 years or so at some pre-game presentation is classless and lazy.  They did hang some banners to celebrate the 50th year but damn, it took 30 years to even do something every team has been doing for decades.   Is there a Bengals Museum in the stadium yet? (Of course the Reds do) The reality is you never hear about people wanting to get to Cincinnati or even talk about it like a viable destination but plenty speak about leaving the place.
