There actually are AN's: the 5 branches of Lima, Mansfield, Newark, Marion, and Wooster. Used to be (and still are at some locations) they were specific to a certain science or study. Any more, they are reservoirs for the Mother Ship with first and second year locals.

And also reservoirs for the kids who can’t get onto main campus their freshman year. It’s a lot tougher to get into OSU main campus your freshman year than it used to be. That’s one of the reasons my son didn’t go there (even though hubby and I are both alumni) and we live 2 miles from the Horseshoe. On game day, you can hear the 3rd down bell on my front porch, and around 10:00 am on game day, we see the police escort with the opposing team buses heading down High St.

Actually, that was the reservoir point: a lot of locals are put on that two-year "list" in order to get transferred to,the Mother Ship. Has literally nothing to do with grades...more for college selection. My niece was looking to get into the fine arts school. The response was: go to Newark for two years, then apply for a transfer. She went to Bowling Green instead.

DJ got told the same thing, but OSU didn’t have his major in undergrad and he had smaller schools with the program he wanted in undergrad and they offered him nice scholarships to go to their schools so that’s how he wound up at ODU.

Like I said, was sort of busy with the hosting thing at the pub...so couldn't sit and watch St Chase the Young very closely.

in the few snippets though, he looked good. Wasn't able to get free on a lot of rushes--noticed he was doubled in those snippets, so figure that was full game scheme against him. But, he was pushing the double team backwards, indicating he has more strength than I had been giving him credit for.

Still the best college defensive player without question.

Box scores show all zeroes with two quarterback hurries.

But still the best college football player of the year which is why the Bengals won't draft him.

Well, if the get the chance.

Which I am starting to doubt.

Today's scoreboard watch...

Go Washington over Carolina.

Go Miami over Philadelphia

Go Arizona over Rams

Go Denver over Chargers

And fuck the Stealers.  And Browns.

So, we’re hoping for a meteor strike at the CLE - PIT game, right?

I'll settle for Maker Bayfield and Jar Jar Binks Shrimper announcing their engagement at half time

at  midfield after a coin flip to see which one gets down on their knees first.

I think Sam Hubbard has zero issues as a LB if he's asked to play there. With the way he can run and with his all out hustle, that cat was born to be a NFL LB, IMO. Kid has had fantastic coaching since the day he stepped on a HS football field, he'll be fine.

Are we talking about 260 lb. Sam Hubbard playing LB?  I'm guessing that would mean he's a 2 down linebacker then move him to DE on rush downs?  I think if you play Hubbard at LB every offense in the league would get him matched up against a RB or TE and I don't think that's a favorable match up for us.  I think our best bet is to actually sign a LB in FA (I know the chances of that are slim) or draft one without reaching (also slim).  Sam is actually a decent DE and I think he'd be a well below average linebacker.  I know some will say he played safety in High School and LB is freshman year...but when someone's body changes a lot of the times their position does as well.

Uh I didn't say that they SHOULD move him to LB. I just said that I think he'd do really well there if they did move him.

Smart, great hustle, fast and he could easily drop a little weight. Not saying it's ideal, but it definitely wouldn't be some big struggle for him, IMO.

With all the glaring needs this team has, I think Andy Dalton is serviceable enough at age 32, to at least let him finish out the last year of his contract next season. I like the idea of trading down for multiple picks.

The more I watch Lamar Jackson the more I want to draft Justin Fields.  I wouldn't be upset with Burrow at all, but my "dream scenario" right now is Chase Young this year and Justin Fields next.

sounds good to me...

dude.. how scared were you when Justins knee went the wrong way??

I looked at my friends and said season over

Fields will be the best player in the draft next year. Gonna be tough to get the #1 overall pick two years in a row though.

Won't be that hard if you start trash like Dalton for another year.

Gotta laugh at the comment that he is "serviceable enough."

The ideal scenario might be to trade #1 (or 2) to the Dolphins for at least three picks, preferably all three first rounders, and take the Best OT, a 1st rd LB, and at the bottom of the round, Take Tua.  Keep Andy for another year, and let Tua get healthy.

Uh, you realize Dalton will cost 17.5 million in 2020.

Dalton plays well at home against one of the worst teams in the NFL and the dumbest fans in the league now want him back in 2020.

You can't make this up.

Uh, you do realize that you're not the smartest person on this board, right?  You're just another asshole on this board, and like most, anytime we hear you, it stinks.

I was thinking we might pick up someone's 2nd & their 1st next year without dropping out of the top 10.  Maybe even some later picks to go with?  I could see 8+ rookies making this team.
