Have a good night! wasted a 4th round pick on a backup.
Catfish Bob
1 hour ago, TigerJ@w said: So you are going to blame a coach who is not playing on the field where a player fumbles a ball? 😂 um ok! This is only his first year, did you expect us to go to the SB with Mediocre Marv’s Chumps? These are not even his players. He is dealing with the hand he was dealt with. Marv has three losing seasons in a row? Do you want him back too? Marv was lucky he got the first draft pick his first year, guess what, Zac is going to get the same thing except in his second year. People who say not his players make me want to stick my face into a meat grinder. Is this college??? Is their no free agency or draft? Ohh majority of the players were recruited by Marv and locked into scholarships?? Taylor wasn't here back in April reviewing last seasons film and evaluating the players on the roster¿???¿¿¿ The only ones doing anything are the ones that were already here. Zac's hand picked guys have done zero all season. So your logic is totally bogus.

Le Tigre
1993 was indeed the closest thing to the present disaster. 2002 was worse in terms of losses, but the team/coaching makeup was '93. Playing a favorite board game, "What If" this team had the 1993 linebackers and Koz at Center and Joe Walter at ORT. The draft produced four guys who started real quick although Tovar lived on his OSU laurels most of the time he was here. They also had the Klingler-Pickins drama. Pickins dropped in the draft because of attitude and was butt hurt the whole time Klingler was here because Kling had been drafted before him. And Pick had a problem with white people, but we can't say that. He alligator armed and cut off routes leading to a number of Klingler's interceptions and, of course, who gets the blame for that. If Pickins had put out for Klingler like he did for Jeff Blake, the 1993 season could have been a lot different. And, of course, Klingler had his own problems including not being a good fit at all for the Bengals or NFL.

Far more young talent like Justin Smith, Levi Jones, Chad and TJ on the 02 team. The 93 team was exactly like our current team, too many old guys past their prime. Add in the fact the next year (2003) they drafted Palmer while the 1994 draft was Big Duddy.

I_C_Deadpeople
This weekend turned out to be far from a total football loss. My Winnipeg Blue Bombers won the 107th Grey Cup ended a 29 year drought - we have won many Cups and been to a few in the last 3 decades but we kept losing. Finally broke the drought. We were even the underdogs in this game but the team had great offensive and defensive game plans and rolled over the Hamilton Tiger Cats. We won 3 playoff games in a row and we had all kinds of new plays each week to confuse the defense. Only in Bengal land do with live with the same plays week after week, i guess it is to much work to add new wrinkles every week.
|SF2|
And lets just get this out in the open since nobody wants to address the real problem: We have a cat as our mascot. No team with a cat as ever won a Super Bowl. Lions (0-53), Panthers (0-24) , Jaguars (0-24) and Bengals (0-53) are winless during the Super Bowl era. That would be 0 for 154 seasons of football. AmishBengalFan
Damn, I'm 0-for-2 getting this to post, so I'm gonna break it in half.... First - The '19 Bengals might be the worst in franchise history, but until we know which previous 'worst' squad was the one the '19 team is attempting to dethrone it's really hard to speak specifics. To help in that, I'm using a simulation website to allow us to see what would happen if the worst two teams in recent memory, the Klinger/Shula 3-13 '93 Bengals and the Kitna/LeBeau 2-14 '02 Bengals were to play head-to-head. AmishBengalFan
If y'all disagree that the '02 and '93 squads were the worst ever, please nominate 4 other "worst" teams and I'll simulate a tourney. The '02 and '93 squads will get a first round bye, they're so bad.

Le Tigre
I would encourage everyone to NOT quote either of Amish's excellently laid-out play-by-play. Suffice to say, I ceased reading after I saw Derrick Fenner have a 14-yard run. This alone would cement a fictional fantasy.

It crossed my mind that eg '02 Chad is not '05 Chad, or '08 Chad Ochocinco, but for the sake of a simulation is actually 2019 hindsight Chad. Regardless, it was almost a tie so fair to assume they are both equally bad. Neither managed to open a season 0-11. "Historically bad" isn't theoretical.
