The Bengals today acquired LB Sharif Finch on waivers from the Tennessee Titans, and placed WR A.J. Green on the Reserve/Injured list.

Finch (6-4, 250), a second-year player out of Temple University, originally was a college free agent signee of the Titans in 2018. He has played in 23 games (three starts) for Tennessee over the past two seasons, recording 35 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery on defense. He also had nine special teams tackles over that span.

Finch will make this team next year and AJ will get a long term deal. 2 great moves.

Nice thought.  I'd take it.

Love the optimism.

I would make a deal with AJ, 3 year contract with the understanding

that you retire a Bengal, not sign elsewhere, and go into the Hall of Fame

wearing orange and black.

Fan favorite will put people in the stands.

High character, quality player great representative of the team.

Nice pot of money to give him a jump start on his post football career (Bengals front office/asst coach? Broadcast booth?)

He does not become the Andrew Whitworth of Bengal wide receivers.

Also lost a guy off the practice squad to the Miami Roster Rustlers

https://bengalswire.usatoday.com/2019/12/23/bengals-roster-moves-dolphins-poach-practice-squad-samaje-perine/

Finch flew the coop with an injury before taking the field

and future Hall of Famer, Samaje Perine, is now making

like Luca Brazie and swimming with the fishes.

Two holes to fill?

Come on, Bengals.

Pluck two good linebackers from someone else's practice squad and lock them up with us at least for training camp next season.

They're not even be going to be issued uniforms and equipment at this late date and simply be on the inactive list standing in

the rain Sunday (90% chance) doing nothing.  What's to lose?

$16,000 or $8,000 per week on practice squad during the season.

Finch was a great get. Why not just throw him on IR or something.

This is how you go 1-15....yeah I'm predicting a loss on Sunday.

The Bengals need to fire Duke Tobin and get a real GM.

Just another example of the subtle cheapness of the Bengals.  God forbid you put him on IR once the team was 0-10 and promote (THAT MEANS PAY) someone to take his spot and tryout for next year.  Can't have that.

My guess is they knew he was out for the season from day one but wanted to dangle his return out there to keep people invested. They also didn't want to admit it was their fault for making him practice in a gravel lot.

That's the Bengal's ownership all over: compounding bad decisions & refusing to admit mistakes. It's a losing combination.
