I would like to go ahead and be the first to guess Joe Burrow for Jason's annual Guess the Bengals' Pick Contest.

Since Burrow is so obvious, my contest this year will be based on our second pick.

My shot.  After the Dalton divorce, maybe another vet trade and a trade up, I gave them a second 3rd rounder.  I also threw in a couple of extra 7ths  (because there always seem to be a couple of extra 7ths).

01. (QB) Joe Burrow (LSU) It's a thing
02. (LB) Patrick Queen (LSU) Great fit
3A. (LB) Terrell Lewis (Alabama) Still there at top of 3rd b/c of injuries
3B. (CB) Jeff Gladney (TCU) Pretty solid & an off-field ? for old times sake
04. (OT) Lucas Niang (TCU)  big OT to groom behind Hart

05. (SS) Reggie Floyd (VA Tech) [or] Jordan Fuller (tOSU)  Floyd's big S who might make hybrid pass LB.
06. (OG) DaiShawn Dixon (San Diego St.) Cause the OL must be fixed, so bodies
7A. (WR) Denzel Mims (Baylor) Productive in college
7B. (DT)  Calvin Taylor (Kentucky) Massive.  More mobile than U'd expect.  Has pressure skills
7C. (TE) Cheyenne O'Grady (Arkansas) Token competition

Anything is possible but I say a fourth for Dalton..

Teams know hes going to be cut so why give a third..

I belive Mims may go late round two or rarly three....

Gladney will go in round two ...Every team wants a good corner..

* Last saw Mims graded Rd. 6-UDFA (musta been old) also saw Gladney in 3rd Rd on a couple of sites due to some off-field issues.  Insert generic 7th Rd WR for Mims & take another 3rd/4th Rd CB instead of Gladney - Lavert Hill?)

* I did say maybe a trade up.  Could see Dalton for a fourth, the trade up into the 3rd with our regular 4th

BTW, anyone know if we are in line to receive any comp picks this year?

TDN mock this afternoon- I did one trade back going from 33 to 51 in the second round and picked up an extra 4th and ended up with this (me picking for the bengals and predictive drafting for the other picks):

1. Burrow, QB, LSU

2. Mims, WR, Baylor

3. Greenard, Edge, Florida

4. Pride JR., CB, Notre Dame

4. Davis-Gaither, LB, App State

5. Onweyu, G, Michigan

6. Pittman JR., WR, USC

7. K. Davis, IDL, Nebraska

the board didn’t fall right for tackles without reaching on that simulation.

TDN has shuffled their board and the predictive mock is a bit different this morning - here was my most recent pass at it (me doing the picking for the Bengals):

1. Burrow, QB, LSU
2. Queen, LB, LSU
3. Wilson, OT, Georgia
4. Amik Robertson, CB, La Tech
5. Pittman Jr., WR, USC
6. Duvernay, WR, TX
7. Stone, S, Iowa

I could more than live with that.

I don’t think Queen makes it to 33, but I like that.

I'd love to get people's opinions/picks on this one - Bleacher Report's latest mock, which has a number of players dropping.  For example, Delpit drops to us at 33 but they have us taking Baun anyway.  I don't think I'd pass on Delpit there.  Mims is also there at the top of the third and they have us taking the DT from Missouri instead:

Yeah. See, I saw an article saying we were sniffing around for a trade partner for Cordy Glenn, and then the writer turned right around and said if he isn’t traded he’ll be cut anyway. Certainly the cards aren’t THAT easy to read, right? The only reason teams would offer up trades is if there is potentially a multitude of teams interested in a specific player, right?

I think this is more likely in the case of Dalton.

The more I think about Glenn, I think they might actually try to put the screws to him.
