Last time I checked it didnt cost anything to walk. If my family was in iminent danger and had 5 days notice, and I had no money or car...I'd grab my daughter and walk. Has nothing to do with being dirt poor. Wealth is not an indicator of common sense.
Many of the dead are old people in Wheel Chairs that they are having to place sheets over and prop up dead against walls while Rats eat them !!!  Also while some of the Younger people Yes could have walked - If you notice where ever theire is a young person they are usually pushing or helping float an elderly person... were they just supposed to let Granny drown and leave her ?

You both have lost touch with reality.... and are existing in a theoretical world on paper devoid of actual reality.
Americans preach loyalty to Country... but it is always the so called Patriotic ones who are the heartless assholes and don't care for their dark colored countrymen and it is always the so called Left winger Commies who actually care about their fellow citizens who are poor and dieing.

Dead people getting eaten by rats?

Not caring for your dark colored countrymen?

What kind of inflammatory, baseless crap is that? I question your claim as to who has lost touch with reality. I was going to write more, but that post doesnt deserve even the extra few seconds it would take to do so.
Just wanted to put out a happy note out of a dire situation.

500 retired Veterans were evacuted from the Armed Forces Home in Gulfport, Miss. and brought to D.C last night. I have been told the home has been destroyed and for any Active Duty out there, this is the home where your .50 a month goes to support.
[post="140850"][/post]
What were those dumbfucks doing there. They should have evacuated when they heard the storm was coming.

It amazes me, how some people think it is so easy for people to evacuate and leave when the don't have the financial capabilities to do so.

Plus a lot survived the storm. It was the aftermath with the levees failing that really fucked them over. You can't expect people who can barely get enough money together to pay for their housing to give it all up at a wimb and abandon everything they own. I'm not saying they made the right decision, but if you were in a lot of these peoples shoes, the decision would have been a lot harder than most of you think.

With all that said, best wishes to everyone having to deal with this crisis.

Gheraldo and Shephered Smith on Hannity & COlmes on Fox News basically just told Sean Hannity that he doesn't know what the fuck is going on......

Hannitys Nazi ass was trying to spin it like Bush was swooping down as Mother Theresa and Gheraldo picked up a dying babie and told him he was full of shit

ALSO FOR THOSE OF YOU SAYING WALK OUT OF THERE

--> The Federal Government has locked the people in the convention center they are locked in and not allowed to leave...

Even Fox just reported that the Highways out of town have armed men on them and people are turned away from walking out of the city

thay can not walk out even though the roads are clear

==== so what you have is the poor go to the convention center on Monday when the Fed govt asks them to
then they lock them in and don't give them food till Thursday then Bushs homeland security man says they forgot the people were in the center.... then today the people want out and they lock them in

WHAT THE FUCK !!!!!!!

We are pulling a fucking "concentration city" where we are encircling poor blacks and watching them drown and die from lack of medicine

Even Shepherd Smith from Fox talked about how trucks with food has been driving past him and 500 blacks stuck on a bridge for 5 days despite the fact that he continually is telling people to send help

When they asked the head of FEMA who was in charge he said he didn't know ????

I feel sick to my stomach

 Are you calling our Veterans dumbfucks?

These are old retired military people and for some with no relatives this home was built for them to live. They were evacuated on Tuesday and the transit was painstakingly slow due to the weather and their needs.

Natallee Halloway must of been at the end of the show; do not know went to the Bengals game on Gamecast.

I was not presenting it as if that was all he did.... I don't think he should have devoted a second of his show to her fucking ass when we have thousands confirmed dead and she has already had thousands of hours of coverage and is probably fucking some Brazilian in Medaheen (Sp)

BJ,
Come on guy, again you are selectively leaving things out.
Within that segment, Shep stated that he winessed the following:

When the national guard arrived, the mayor redirected them to the Hyatt Hotel, across from his office, wher foreign nationals and etc... were lodge.
They were escorted to the convention center( may of been another site) where they were put at the head of the line on buses exiting the city while his contituence were suffering.
You of all people should of been :bullhorn: this bullshit act.

Oh my bad, what was I thinking  , because of the mayor being black and a democrat you and the NAACP will give him a pass on this action.

YES

Geraldo was losing it, very emotionally disturbed. Shep, who probably has been there longer than anyone is looking rough. Fox needs to get him out of there, if they can; odds are he will stay untill all the citizens are gone. :(

I watched ABC last night, nightline. It showed me something about what's going on, and even with people like BJ. I saw some young families there in NO. Young and healthy enough to walk. Yes, walk. I will probably sound racist to you, but I'm talking about more than black people, because there were some white people just like this. They are so spoiled, used to taking government handouts, that they will not even take the initiative to get their happy little asses up and walk. Walk, from the moment that they were told to evacuate New Orleans. Instead, they sit around, waiting. In the hot sun for days, just waiting. And complaining, saying, "Why isn't my government here, helping me out? Where are they? Can't they see me sitting here, waiting for help." What the hell. Get your happy asses up and walk out of town. It's not that hard. Even with children. I can take my family on a day long hiking trip, including my 3 year old son. Why did they not walk to higher ground to begin with. If all the healthy people would have walked out of town, since noone thought of busing them out, then that would only leave the sick and injured people, and a few to take care of them. That would have made a much easier evacuation process, than what we have now. A bunch of people, not wanting to do something for themselves. They just wait around for someone to take care of them, and call foul at everyone they can. Fuck it, they didn't even make me sad, they made me mad. Hundreds of years ago, people would've walked out of a disaster area. Is this the result of evolution? We cannot take care of ourselves anymore? Just wait for the powerful white man to come save us? I am sickened by what I saw.

On another note, at the end of the show, they showed a community that survived the storm. They were a small white community, with money. They took in many survivors who found their way there. This community is providing them with everything they need, and trying to get them back with their families. They are even opening their schools up to sit hundreds more students. And they're white, this community is. Tell me how racist this country is again.

I think the problem we have is bureaucracy. It takes too many signoffs and paperwork to get things done on a federal level. If more neighbors like this community were more helpful, things could be much better off.

I'm done  ing now. I just wish people would stop looking for others to blame. Get out of the way of the storm next time. Don't give me this shit about how you cannot walk. You live under sea level between two bodies of water. You're doomed, get out. Not everyone has a family member with a wheelchair, so don't give me that shit. And those that do, well, designate someone to stay and help that person. Everyone else, get the hell out of town!!!

that is where the governor should have stepped in, and made a plan to get those unfortinate people out of there...

this could have helped get those that couldn't physically get out, financially or health wise:

Anyone aligning themselves with a murdering ,kidnapping ,blackmailing cock sucker like Castro should be the next recepient of one of his 2 hour speeches (like he delivered earlier this year) decrying the US government interfering in his blackmailing of family members of the poor victims held in Cuba as hostages .

Get down on Bush, his administration changed the rules, he only lets money be sent back for brothers ,sisters, fathers and mothers... what an insensitive soul.

i know first hand about this. i worked with 2 cuban emigrees that the company i worked for had helped escape Cuba, once Fidel dropped all pretense and showed his real self. They had to send money back every month or their relatives received visits from Fidels police force.

I think sometimes ignorance is dangerous, other times its pathetic

Which is it with you?

knomage... have you ever been to Cuba?

also this was not a comparison of the twos personalitites or other abilties to govern... the point was that even what Americans think of as an Evil dictator is competent enough to save his people from drowning. He at least pays attention to them. Ours plays golf and jacks off Oil companies.

Fidel is to Cuba, what the Governor is to Louisiana. Did you read the article you posted. They have evacuation plans, runners, etc. Are you saying that our federal government should go throughout the entire nation and post evacuation routes for each city and whatever possible natural disasters could happen in that area?

Once again, if anything, this article shows how piss poor planning New Orleans and Louisiana has for its residents. Every southeastern area of the United States should have plans for hurricanes, and what to do with its people. The President of the United States did not ask to put people in the stadium, that was the City. Every northeastern city should have plans for what to do in case of a blizzard, and guess what, most of them do. I think if anything, this should wake up the entire Southeast, and every city and state should make sure they have good plans of what to do in case of a huge storm such as this.
