So your saying be ballsy and take Isaiah at 2 and Willie Gay at 3??

In some folks eyes (especially these media forecasters) that would be reaching a bit..

Id reach then....

No, I'm saying I don't know who they should pick.  I'm saying they should know more than the "experts" and make a good pick.  I'm also saying a second round offensive lineman is rarely good year one anyway.  If you are so worried about protecting Burrow it should have been done in FA.

Locking in on one position for a draft, especially a pick that early, is a bad idea.  Someone the Bengals like a lot may drop to that spot.  You going to screw up and take the lineman anyway?  God, no.  That would be a very Bengals thing to do, though.  We would have some half-assed lineman and watch some perennial pro-bowler for a decade play for someone else because the Bengals locked in on a lineman.

I am an Ohio State fan and always liked Urban.  But the more I think about Joe's time there....how many true NFL QB's did Urban Meyer create?  Alex Smith was OK.  The jury is still out on Haskins.  Urban made some great college QB's but not so hot Pro QB's.  Maybe it wasn't skill that kept Joe off, maybe he just didn't fit Urban's style as well as others.

I am also a huge fan of THE OSU Buckeyes, and to be honest, I agree with you 100%. Urban has a long been a proponent and coached the Zone/Read style of offense, so a pro style type QB like Burrow would naturally not be best suited fit in his scheme. When Joe broke his hand in the spring game, in my way of thinking it likely made Urban's decision a much easier one to go with JT, because up to that point Joe was outperforming him. It all worked out pretty well, so I guess it is what it is, right?

Glad you aren't running the Bengals draft.

If you expect to have any success as a team you have to BE something.  Something better than other teams.  Maybe it's speed.  You want a fast defense and skill players.  Maybe it's character.  Maybe you want to be the bully like the Stealers have done for years.  Fuck them, BTW.  You design your draft around that something and you are certainly going to make different decisions because of it.  More often then not teams that draft like the experts say are losers.

I do know this. What they HAVE been doing hasn't been working worth a fuck, and I've said it for years. I hope your thinking doesn't align with meaning their way has been the right way? I say that for this reason, especially this reason. The Bengals' top brass has had a consistent problem with addressing the need to invest in their OL, and the concerns with their failure to do that has shown up throughout the season year after year. If there has ever been a time to change that script and come out of the dark ages on thier thinking about that...that time is now.

We don’t have to settle for a turd like Baker Mayfield.

Comparing Joe Burrow to that chubby little chode shows just how lucky the team is this year.
If Burrow wasn't in this draft, then I'd support trading back a few pics and drafting Simmons.

There's going to be some ER visits I think later tonight in the Cincy area from a jump in city-wide blood flow.

The added bonus, From everything I have read and seen, the young man is not an ass.

He has a maturity and understanding of leadership that is rare. He exudes a confidence but not in an arrogant way that I think players will gravitate towards.

@BlackJesus I was wondering if you'd be showing up!

I never miss a draft day if I can avoid it, even in crazy circumstances. I've literally posted on draft night over the years from the jungles of Africa and Syrian war zones.

1.  This is number 1 for a reason.  Our Offensive line sucks donkey balls.

3.  Details.  One good year.  Arguably supported by the best cast in college football.  Small hands.

1. Jonah Williams essentially gives the team 2 top 10 picks this year. So it's as if we had picks 1 and 10 and got them both.

3. Burrow was solid 2 years ago as well at LSU, the offensive scheme just sucked. He just wasn't on the national scene as his skills are not apparent in the usual eye test that judges talent on arm strength or stature etc ... as his immense skill set is centered inside his head. Burrow wins with his brain and moxey. His ability to lead others and out prepare his opponent (much like Tom Brady - but he's a way better athlete than Brady was).

As for cast, he also played against SEC defenses full of NFL players, and its been reported he would light up the LSU defense in practice, also with NFL players on it.

As for hands, his are similar to Mahomes (current Super Bowl champ)

Do you like the idea of RT Isaiah Wilson at 2 and. LB Willie Gay in the third or do you have others in mind?

I like the idea of Wilson in round 2. Especially if Kenneth Murray is gone (preferred choice to trade up into round 1 for). Other options in round 2 I would like are Higgins and Mims at WR, or Ben Bredeson (guard).

Bengals president Mike Brown officially welcomed LSU QB Joe Burrow to Cincinnati on Wednesday, one day before the Draft. Brown sent Burrow a letter that said, amongst other things, that he looks forward “to building championship football teams with you for many years to come.”

Apparently he also sent Joe's family number 9 Bengals jerseys.

Yeah, fan here too but I don't think UM recruited QBs for the NFL but for his system and model to win.

Worked pretty damn solid for him so far. GO BUCS!
