Really looking forward to seeing where we stand next week against the Ravens.  I'm looking over their defensive stats, and am not impressed, but Lamar and his scramble capability is a worry.

Yeah, Jackson has made a lot of decent defenses, including the Bengals, look bad.  The template to stop him is out there, but it's damn hard to execute.  If the Bengals are going to compete next Sunday Joe is going to have to light it up and Mixon is going to have to be very effective as well.  Baltimore's D seems to not be the dominant group it has been in the past, so maybe a glimmer of  hope?

I don't think he's going to get MVP Talk, but he's definitely making a serious run at Rookie of the Year.  And if he continues at this level, it won't be close!!

he's going to win that unless he gets hurt... the dude is so damn good. He makes it so much fun to watch the Bengals again.

Joe Burrows is a mastetful QB allready..

Pleasure to watch the magician do his magic!!

Not so fast my friend.  His deep ball needs a ton of work.

I think that's mostly timing.  The effort from receivers whose names don't start with T is lacking.

Nice to see our former 2nd rd pick TE get involved.

Bengals WRs should be watching this Bills/Raiders game to see how to go get the ball.  Great efforts and catches.

Just got home and read the thread.

+1 to all, great job.

Sorry I missed Membengal, glad he had a good time.  Great day for football, gray overcast cool and threatening but the major brunt of the rain held off.  I did run into MOC for the first time in years, first time since the old board died and the tailgates ended.  Great too see him.

Followed Bobby Hart's family up the escalator. No one else in the stadium other than Bobby wearing a Hart jersey.

National Anthem... Bengals stood on the sideline, Jacksonville did not come on the field.  I thought they had forfeited.

A few questions for those of you who saw it.

Jacksonville's first touchdown.  I didn't think the guy had both feet in bounds.  Thought he was juggling the catch when both feet in bounds and stepped way out when he had control.

I thought Drew Sample was robbed of a touchdown.  I thought he had the ball, knee down and ball taken out after the whistle should have blown and a he as screwed.

Note on Zac... I like the guy and am not as down on him as many.  However, I think he should be more animated and deal with the refs.  Not the clapclapclap crap, but get in a refs ear once in awhile.

Boring at times but enjoyable game.  Nice to see Joe and the Bengals get their first win.

Joe was only sacked once, Laph mentioned Redmond's aggressiveness.

Great day for football.

The defender did have his arm in there, I think they could've called it down by contact but doubt it gets overturned either way.  Have to complete the catch.  Still a good day for Drew, I bet he hangs on to the next one.

That's encouraging.  I'd rather he hit someone & get beat than stand there looking lost.

Thanks for the post, HSH!  To most in Chat we saw it as pass interference on Sample should’ve been called.  I think it was the right call on the INT.  I said the same thing in Chat that Zac needs to get in the Refs ears.  Burrow keeps getting hit late and no flags and Zac says nothing.  🤦‍♂️ Baltimore will be doing it next week for sure as they are the Dirty Birds of course.  I think Burrow knows he won’t get calls because he is a Rookie.  An opponent player even said to him you will not get that call Rook, but in due time.  In which is BS! This was from a post game interview where Burrow said this about a late hit.  They don’t even show the National Anthem playing on tv.  That is just sad and pathetic that the NFL doesn’t even care about what that song means and our flag means to our country.  I don’t want to get political, but just saying.  Good to see you ran into some people from the past.  Yea, old board days were something else.  So there is no other board with the old school crew online anywhere?

The NFL can't win.  People say "I don't want to hear politics, just play football," so the NFL takes the focus off the national anthem where you would see how some players kneel, some teams stay in the locker room, etc.  Now they get complaints that they don't care about the National Anthem.  They are trying to run a business and keep everyone as happy as possible.  How about giving them a break.  Frankly, it's a situation at this point where someone is always going to be unhappy as it relates to the anthem.  I have my opinions about the anthem, but I understand that the NFL is trying to put the emphasis on the game.

I love seeing the celebrations in the locker room after a win. Dan Hoard tweeted that Burrow was mic'd up for the game so I can't wait to hear that soon.

who was that porn star in the middle of the WHO DEY circle at the end?  Oh, that's just Gio.

J@w is right about rookie Burrow not getting those calls.  Marsha Brady gets flags when a defensive back breaks wind... illegal flatulence, ball placed at the spot of the fart, first down.

You can see this on the replay... after Mixon's hurdling TD, he takes a shot to the helmet when he after he has scored and is in the end zone.  I thought it should have been called.  I told my son if he had stayed down a few seconds rather than bouncing up to celebrate, he probably would have gotten the call.

I think it was the same player (42) who laid Boyd out on a non catch.  Boyd was down a bit and came off the field.  As he was leaving, 42 came up to say something, an apology or some well wish it looked like.  Boyd ignored and blew him off.
