Oh, they say that, but we're consistently confused because these so-called "protect the QB" rules are, like most rules in the NFL, subject to the ref's whim. As much as I'm in the camp of "football is ruined by too many protective rules", these are the ones I agree with - let the QBs be protected, we all want to watch teams put their starting QB out there.
