Jersey Change?

Recommended Posts

Of course it is staying, because its "easier" that way. Merchandise doesn't need to be redesigned, the field can remain the same, banners and what not at the stadium.

Kinda makes you wonder, what if the jersey "redesign" is something halfassed like the removal of the white side panels on the current ones (which admittedly would be an improvement)

To be honest, most of the fan re-designs  are essentially just that. Same old shit, with the side panel fixed.
Hopefully they realize the white color rash set is about as close to perfect as they will ever get while still incorporating stripes. Boomer wasn't wrong. Keep the white one, add a black one. Limit orange to the helmet. Done.

Heh.... if you don't mind having jerseys hanging in your closet in the soon-to-be-old design with players who haven't been with the team for a full season, I just spotted a TON of discounted Dalton (and a few Eifert) jerseys on Fanatics.   The Nike $150 Limited are going for under $30 new.

One could keep the names, or swap the plates out for Kenny Anderson, Isaac Curtis, or Chad Johnson and have a sharp, yet obsolete, jersey for gameday.  Lol.

Is there someplace I can get just a nameplate?  I'd like to convert my Eifert Rush jersey to Higgins.

I would start here:

I’ve done several there. And all you have to do is let them know what you want, and send it to them. Last change for a ‘98 Flying Tiger jersey cost $50 plus shipping. It’s been several years, so the price will be more of course.

The quality is the same as on the actual game-worn

Ditto.... Koch is the way to go.  You might even be able to order just the plate and have them ship it to you if you know your way around a sewing machine.

Yeah, that is flat hideous. A lot of these "designer" types don't see the forest for the trees. And many of them work for Nike..  Getting cute with the stripes does not a good uniform make. Set the color flow in a fashion that looks strong then tweak the flair elements. Sadly, The Bengals are the easiest team to really mess up when it comes to uniform design. Feels like we'll be praying for the old duds by the time this is over..

I like classic.  Either one with the current helmet works for me.

Saw this earlier. Classic is great news. "north" conference teams should all be tough, traditional styles. "Eastern" teams like the Shitbirds don't qualify. They should have been swapped with The Colts ages ago.

Id like the Colts in our division as well.

Move Baltimore to AFC east and Miami to AFC south..

Actually id like to redo the whole damn league some..

What say you?

A close look at the Ike uniform circa 1973, and the Paul Robinson one circa 1969, shows a difference in style. Not incredibly noticeable, but different nonetheless. I know they tweaked this “old style” uniform a few times in the ‘70’s. Some, the arm wrap were wider and more Orange in the color...others the tone of the dark uniform hue was deeper. Even the helmet lettering was slightly modified. Again, nothing out of the universe different. Could have been the uniform manufacturer—the AFL used a different manufacturer than the NFL pre-merger.

Gee Off Speaks...

JAMIE: Thank you very much for taking the time to write and I hope it’s not the last time. The last thing they want me to do is to spoil the surprise, so I probably have more information about the 2022 Paris fall fashions. From what I hear, classic is good.

Another hint, from Elizabeth Blackburn's "Vision" article:

https://www.bengals.com/news/chapter-2-the-vision-high-standards-connection-and-enduring-legacy

"First, in case you have not heard, we are getting new uniforms. I know many of you have asked for these for quite some time. It's a long process working with NIKE and the NFL and, like I said above, we have high standards. We want this next iteration of our jersey to become as beloved, iconic and timeless as our helmet. We'll be publishing a LOT of great content around the launch of our new uniforms later this spring. I will leave you with this tease to say that I hope you're excited for a clean look."
