Id run to the podium to get Sewell at 5..(it may happen) ..

They may be real high on Chase as well. (Im not.. too many good receivers in the draft later on)..

Outside of Sewell id trade back anywhere from 7 to 10 to get Darrishaw or Barrimore and have 2 low second rounders ...

Why not?

Question for tOSU crowd - I really really was not impressed with Wade this year - and am hearing he may be best at slot or safety. I’ve been avoiding him in my mocks. Is there a part of his game that was missing this year that is likely to come back?

Randle - for my part, I don’t want any of their picks on qb at any point - they need to spin the draft wheel at a lot of other positions than backup QB...

PFF's top 5 at each position:

https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2021-nfl-draft-ranking-top-five-players-each-position

Here's just O-line for them:

OFFENSIVE TACKLE

1. Penei Sewell, Oregon
2. Rashawn Slater, Northwestern
3. Christian Darrisaw, Virginia Tech
4. Teven Jenkins, Oklahoma State
5. Samuel Cosmi, Texas

Christian Darrisaw is a name you’re going to hear a lot more of in the coming months, and he could even come off the board as high as the top 10 when all is said and done. He earned the second-highest grade we’ve ever given to a Power Five tackle, posting a 95.6 overall mark. And he wasn’t exactly going up against slouches. He faced draftable edge defenders such as Carlos Basham (Wake Forest), Quincy Roche (Miami), and Victor Dimukeje (Duke) and shut them all down.

Im not predicting Darrushaw to be great but his resume his one of a balanced lineman in pass and run..

If we trade back we could land him and another 2nd rounder..

I hear ya on the backup QB thing.  I took Jackson Carman OT Clemson with the idea of moving him over to Guard.  I don't think he has

the arm length to be out at Tackle against the speed of NFL ends.

At 6'5" 345 lbs I think he'd fit right in at the guard position and

actually do damage.  He did protect Trevor Lawrence's blindside

for 2 years but the college game and NFL game are 2 different species.  He was the 2nd ranked OT coming out of high school in 2018

and had offers from Alabama, USC, Ohio State and Notre Dame and

even though he's from Fairfield, OH He chose Clemson.  That should make some of the OSU haters on here happy!  haha  j/k  Could he have been had later in the draft?  3rd or 4th round?  Hard to say and depends on what position on the line you think he's gonna have the bigger impact.

One of those mock simulators totally caught me off guard last night!

Trevor Lawrence was available at pick #5 and I was like WTF!?  I'm gonna find me a Mike Ditka wannabe and take their entire draft plus a couple of future 1st rounders like he did when he coached the Saints and mortgaged that franchise for years to draft Ricky "Rastaman" Williams!!  haha

We already have guards that can “actually do damage”...as evidenced by Joe Burrow’s knee.

I was shocked about the talent, (or lack thereof) at the LB'er position in this draft!!  There's maybe 2 from what I can tell so far that is worthy of a 1st round pick and I'm not entirely sold on that even yet.  I felt I was reaching at pick #81 for Jabril Cox but the guy has 9 interceptions with 3 returned for TD's which doesn't really happen that often from the LB'er spot.  We need someone who can cover TE's severely!!  Who knows?!  He maybe one of those players that shoots up draft boards leading up to and during the combine!!  If he didn't transfer to LSU, we may not have really heard too much about him.

RIGHT!!??  And if worse comes to worse, we could always slide Hart over to Guard!!  Dude's a f'n beast!!  (Said no one ever not on the crack pipe!!)

Good guards in the draft this year..

We'll get one..

Gotta get a OT first and foremost.

Any thought to taking a kicker somewhere?

Maybe even higher than 7th round?

Definitely, but the two simulators I've been using don't have specialists as an option.  Especially if we end up with a pile of picks it's almost stupid NOT to take a kicker.  I didn't like the quotes from Simmons after the season making it sound (at least to me) as though we're going to go with "we have the kicker in the building" again. 😒
