I am stating an opinion.  I'm not sure what you are doing.  You speak in a very factual way, and then suggest "this isn't my opinion, this is what they are going to do."  What is your opinion?  You seem to have done plenty of research into all the logical prospects.

My opinion is that they are going to take Chase.  I've said that many times.

I want to trade back and take Slater, I don't believe they'll do that however.

Because the drop-off from Chase to that crew is much higher than the drop-off from Sewell/Slater to the o-line they can get at 38. That's pretty universally what folks are saying. Pro talking heads. And...me.

Except..

Sewell will be a LT and a good one..

Slater will be a Guard..and a good one..

On the other hand as things stand the Bengals have 2, maybe 3 legit NFL offensive linemen, and I'm including Hopkins who is injured.  Williams is the maybe.  I guess you could throw in Spain as a maybe.  That's not close to good enough.  WR can wait.  They can afford to gamble on a WR in later rounds.  If Sewell is the closest thing to a stud OL in the draft and he's there, you take him.  As you move to the 2nd and 3rd round the risk goes up that the guy needs a year or two to be good.  Joe Burrow's body can't afford that.  It's really not that crazy a concept.

Other than RB and DB this team lacks either starters or depth all over the place.  If we pass on Sewell or trade down to get more picks and pick up OL later i am at least comfortable in knowing Pollack is the key to the OL drafting and not the ass clown Turner or the Ketchup Whisperer.

You may be right, but the whole "Joe Burrow is going to get his choice" think doesn't float for me.  Mike Brown is a stubborn old coot, and a player telling him how to run his football team isn't how he rolls.  I think others will influence Brown more than a player.  Who does Taylor want?  What does Tobin think?  This team is far to chaotic to know what they are going to do for sure.

This is the NFL, he's not going to be able to just run by DB's at this level.  I'd rather have a slower guy that can cut and break some ankles out there.

Haven't we seen this episode already?

But are we not actually looking for the fats downfield threat at the open WR spot?

Graham ran a 4.53 at his combine at 260 lbs. Pitts ran a 4.46 at a pro day at 240.  Advantage Graham.

👍

Graham was a late 3rd round pick and Pitts is being called the best TE prospect "ever" ..... We'll just have to watch and see what happens when he's playing somewhere else because he's definitely not going to be playing here.

I would be OK with trading down.  As you say, this team has issues all over the place.  I would still want a first round OL if it wasn't a reach.  I'm not OK with WR at their current slot.  A stud TE would be better than WR, but still a miss on the team's biggest need.

If it's completely up to MB my opinion is that he'll take the playmaker.

The debate between Chase Sewell Pitts or trading back are all valid..

Now...What does JB want???

We all know that answer..

JB: Mr. Brown we need to draft Chase at #5

MB: Why?

JB: He is a Ferrari and I am your bell cow

MB: Excellent point, we will target Chase

He would sure as heck be doing more routes over the middle than the WRs.

He probably will. I also think he ends up in the slot quite a bit too though. Imagine trying to cover that dude with a slot corner 😆

Not bad at all in many ways.  First three picks quality OL.  Would certainly be an instant upgrade to protect The Franchise.  Down side is all three would be up for new contracts about the same time.  Not good.

Schwartz looks like a boom or bust pick but late enough for a look-see.

Everyone likes Milton.

Still think there will be a Kicker in there maybe as high as 5 if they think one is worth it.

Yeah, on the kicker, but this simulator doesn't include Specialists.  IMO, as far as regular players you go, a 7th rounder is pretty-much worthless (short of a practice squad body).  Seems like a perfect slot for a placekicker or punter though.  If I could, my final pick in each simulation would have been PK Jose Borregales from The U.

I saw that, a second to drop to 8th & a third to drop from 8 to 12?  Naw, naw, naw.  I want more that a two and a three just to move out of 5 so somebody can pick a franchise QB.  I'd also want as much or more to move from 8 out of the top 10 to 12.

Imagine a safety blowing him up on a crossing route so they don't have to cover him anymore

Imagine zone LBs teeing off on him.

In todays pussified NFL that's not really gonna happen much though because it'll almost always end up a 15 yard penalty.

The rules today put a guy like Pitts at a huge advantage, he's going to be a huge weapon for some team right off the bat. I predict 10+ tds year one no matter where he ends up at.
