Chris Henry had over 30 receptions twice. What's your point?

This.  Henry was talent and potential.  He never realized it, unfortunately.  You don't take someone high in the first round to play Robin to someone else's Batman.

Target replacement doesn't actually make sense. He only caught 47 of those targets. If he had caught even 20 more we could have had far fewer targets or more due to first downs. Over the last 4 years there has been a variance of over 100 attempts for us. It seems like it should make sense but it doesn't.

Huh? It doesn’t make any difference how many catches he had, the point is those are 104 passes that weren’t going to Boyd or Higgins either way.

I'm in favor of Sewell in the first also but I do think they need another good WR. The offense would function so much better with a second deep threat to keep defenses honest and open the middle of the field for Tyler Boyd.

The year the Rams went to the Super Bowl, they had a 3-headed monster of Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp. Each averaged over 75 receiving yards per game.

We saw the Colts surround Peyton Manning with a bunch of skill position talent when he was first drafted. Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, and Dallas Clark each put up huge numbers and were all first rounders. They had some slot guys who put up big numbers too.

The Bills helped Josh Allen make the leap by going out and trading for Stefon Diggs and paying $9M a year to both Cole Beasley in the slot and John Brown outside. There's a lot of examples of young QBs finding success when their teams hit on two or three special pass catchers to help them out.

Or even when the Rams had Holt, Bruce, and Hakeem

I think if they take Chase he’s the new Batman.  Boyd and Higgins make perfect Robins.

I think that results in less passes to Boyd who then wants to leave. Or Higgins. I don't think its realistic to feed these 3 guys. The ideas fun, but I think we have 2 stars here.

We've been over this. NO, it won't. AJ got 100+ targets last year. Those same targets can go to a WR1 like Chase and don't affect the targets for Boyd or Higgins. AT ALL.

That's amazing when Boyd is a 5 year vet with close to 4000 yards and Higgins had a great rookie season.

We need to quit acting like a 5th overall pick automatically makes someone a HoF player.

Makes no difference what we think. If he's still there, they'll take him and he'll be the alpha. What he turns into after that is anyone’s guess.

Eh, maybe.  If they're trying to create a winning culture they need to make rookies earn their playing time instead of benching productive vets for the first shiny thing they find.

What the Texans have done is insane. Keep in mind that we have signed 5 free agents and that's about average to a bit above average.

You are assuming Chase works and thinks like a pro and is ready to be WR1.  That is not a given.  Maybe Burrow's insight helps, but you are making a big assumption.

There’s no reason to think he won’t either. Look what the other LSU kid did in Minny last season. Chase is on a different level as a prospect coming into the NFL than any of those WR’s were last year and they all turned out to be very good. Hell, look what Green did as a rookie with rookie Dalton, him and Chase are about the same prospect from a grade standpoint.

One reason bad franchises lose is they count on draft picks day 1.  I'm not saying they shouldn't play, but making a guy WR1 day one is garbage franchise stuff.  Green had to be WR1 because the Bengals other WRs were crap.  Jerome Simpson and Andre Caldwell.  And Green only had 65 catches his rookie season.  He didn't become "AJ Green" until is second year.  The Bengals have two good WRs.  They don't have a good TE.
