I don’t doubt Snyder can screw this up but the team is one decent player away from 10 to 12 wins.  Hell, Dalton could have been that guy.  Don’t forget, the team started off the season 1-5 with Haskins and ended up 7-9.

In the NFC East.

The only way Rivera will win is with a dominant defense.  He will screw up the offense no matter who is at the helm.

I've been living in the DMV for 20 years and have witnessed the Snyder circus as it dominates the local sports coverage. They used to have some of the best fans, but Snyder has lost that fanbase. That said; the name change, the hiring of Rivera, the accusations of harassment, minority owners wanting him out, a weak division and league pressure and this team has a new hope. Not unlike when Marvin was first hired. I wouldn't sleep on the WFT.

Now if you want to see a poorly managed roster look no further than Dallas.  They have 56 mil in cap being used at starting QB, #1 WR and RB.  The Chiefs have $26 mil.  I think I would take Mahomes, Hill, Edwards-Helaire, and $30mil extra (to get guys like Thuney) vs Dak, Cooper and Elliott.

I agree. I believe 50% of their cap is tied up in four players. They are screwed. They have been almost irrelevant for two decades, making the playoffs only seven times and never getting past the divisional round. Without their history and hype, they'd be considered a borderline joke.

Jerry Jones is like Mikey in that he interferes far too much but in the opposite way. Difference is the Stars franchise is worth $5.7B

Ok, I guess this is the new 'media presence' that Pumpkin Jr is pushing.  Cheesy as hell for oldies like most of us around here, but it's an effort at least.   Sad part is... maybe this is all we're going to see in FA if they're already wrapping the known crop in a box like this...

Ok that makes more sense, upon looking at the helmet a bit better it's the Saints gold

I guess as a PSA for the people who only read this stuff on phones - everything in that floatie cloud of tweets is what we already know.  Hendrickson, Awuzie, Hilton.  And DJ Reader expressing his approval.

The Twentysomethings.

Instead of thinking primarily of need I decided to switch the mindset to think about who fits the profile of the guys we have signed already and who is available. Basically 20 somethings who can sign 3 year deals or beyond and be a part of the fabric of the team for awhile

WRs

Fuller (27), Golladay (27), Samuel (24), Moore (26), Reynolds (26), Perriman (27) Fringe Age: Watkins (28), Conley (28)

David Moore is an interesting guy. Didn't have high ADOT this year but did last 2 years. High passer rating last year. Ran a 4.48 40. A good WR but I am not sure he is the speedster we want.

TE

Gerald Everatt (26): He is still young and if he came cheap enough could fit into the mix. I think a draft pick fits better

OL

John Miller (27), Ethan Pocic (26)

DL

Grover Stewart (27), Sheldon Rankins (27), Larry Ogunjobi (27), Hassan Reddick (26), Tarrell Basham (27), Morgan Fox (26)

Morgan Fox is one of my favorites in the group. Active, could come cheap the Rams in cap hell. A great rotational guy. He is the perfect guy to get using the current cap situation.

Who am I missing?

I would at least thought we would have one veteran OLINE out of FA??? Hopefully we get an upgrade by the end of the week.

Missing out and not even coming close to one the top tier guards is a fail. yes, they would have had to pay top dollar but it would help send the right message. If we now sign lower level guys how is this different then what we did last year?

Larry Warford is 29 now, will turn 30 later in the year but that's not old for an O-lineman. He could easily play 3 or more seasons for us. Trade possibilities Havenstein and Ramczyk are both mid 20s.

They need to sign or trade for at least two above average offensive linemen ASAP. Minimum one OG and one OT. No questions asked. I can live with them not paying Thuney and even Zeitler but, there is NO excuse to not sign upgrades. Clearly, Sewell or Slater is going to be the pick at #5 but way more needs to be done. They still have $21 million cap in space and that's without seemingly obvious cap space cuts in Atkins, Hart and potentially Uzomah and/or Bernard. With those four guys gone there'd be $45 million available. Simply cutting Bobby Hart would put them well within the Top 10 in cap space remaining at about $27 million.

No fucking excuses. No Hobsoning the numbers. Get it done or I am going to turn in to one of these doorknob posters that just posts the same negative thing over and over and thinks it's fresh.

I like the signings on defense.

Cornerbacks who cover and bring the wood on run plays..

Saw too many backs run to left

side for big gains...

Big upgrade in helping run game against the likes of Chubb, Dobbins and whoever Stealers use..

Defense still needs a 3tech tackle to compliment Reader..

Defense looking allright now..

Help is on the way...

Rodney Hudson. Gabe Jackson tandem would be a huge upgrade for the interior..Warfield is another..

Ryan Ramzyk would be a Huge signing...

Plenty of good linemen to choose from now that the defense is stronger..

Time for new oline pieces starts

now..

You continue to seem optimistic on this Clapton. I hope you are right. I want two or three of these guys (Jackson is #1):

Rodney Hudson

Gabe Jackson

Larry Warford

Trai Turner

Rick Wagner

Rob Havenstein

One of these guys (Speed WR):

Curtis Samuel

Will Fuller

Chris Conley

Breshad Perriman

One of these guys (Pass Rush Specialist-All Unlikely):

Melvin Ingram

Haason Reddick

Justin Houston

Olivier Vernon

And these guys:

Samaje Perine

Quinton Spain

Kevin Huber

This should/would be doable by just cutting Bobby Hart giving them $27 million in cap space (fuck off with your rookie pool Hobson). Then, cut Geno Atkins after June 1st and use the cap space to extend Jessie Bates.

Im with ya on those moves..

I dont see any way they keep Hart.

Geno too..

Lots if cap for olinemen and a wideout..

Im optomistic about the upcoming days solidifying these spots...
