What's a Successful Season?

Recommended Posts

For me, it's this:

  • Go at LEAST 7-10 with wins vs. Browns (x1), Stealers (x1), Ravens (x1), Jags, Lions, Jets and Chargers
  • Defense finishes in the top 15 in total yards, top 12 in points allowed
  • Burrow has at least 29 TDs and less than 13 INTs
  • Mixon has over 1400 total yards and 7+ TDs
  • Chase, Higgins and Boyd combine for 3400 yards and 24 TDs
  • No major injuries that linger into next year
  • Offensive line is between 14-19 in pass block win rate and run block win rate
  • Make at least 3 FGs over 50 yards and convert 85+% of all FGA
  • Defensive line has at least 14 total sacks and defense has at least 20 total sacks
  • Force more turnovers than we commit
  • Get more sacks than we give up

What's a successful season in your eyes?

I like the competing for a playoff spot makes it a successful season take. And no more excuses for Zac. He's jettisoned all the unwanted pieces and all his parts are in place. He's got a worse record than Dave Shula for goodness sake, time to compete.

The AFCN is the toughest division imo..

Id say 6-11 ....

My gut says theyll go 1-5 in it with a split with Pitts..

Split with either or both with Ravens and Browns would get them to 7 or 8 wins..

Im hoping they achieve those hurdles and goals...

6-11 should get Taylor fired.  He inherited a 6 win team and takes three years to get back to that point?  Hit the road.

Almost 44% of NFL teams go to playoffs every year.  This is Taylor’s 3rd year.  He is 6-25-1.  Anything short of the playoffs is FAILING.   That would make 6 straight years without being in the playoffs.

Do you think it’s realistic for this team to make it to the playoffs?

This team will surprise a lot of people this season.

The question is which group of people are surprised, the ones that think they’ll make the playoffs, or the ones that think they’ll win no more than five games.

Do I think they will?  No. Should a team that has been rebuilding for at least 4 years expect to make the playoffs in year 5?  Yes.

This season record will be determined by the Oline play..

Protect and pound in the run game..

I STILL dont know how well theyll mesh as a unit..

Im okay with the skillef players but very unsure of this group in front of JB..

Playoffs or playoffs-caliber record. If they go 10-7 and miss the playoffs then fine.

This team has spent too much in free agency, invested too heavily on both sides, and has too good a quarterback to be satisfied with some mediocre bullshit.
