Bengals at Stealers - Good, Bad, & Ugly

Recommended Posts

Seeing JoeB back to more normal in terms of awareness of pressure and sliding to avoid hits and keep plays alive was fantastic to see. Even better was seeing his confidence in the knee to audible to the QB draw (and, btw, great block downfield from Chase on that one)...

- Some risky plays late in the game (pass play on first down after a 9-minute Pittsburgh series?  That your D fought like warriors for you to force only 3 points?  And you give them back one minute?)

This is another reason Zac needs to give up the play calling.  Defense was just on the field…it’s late in the 2nd half and you’ve got a big lead.  Run the ball to get the clock moving and take it from there.  It’s like he’s trying to be too smart.  Granted, if we complete the pass I still think it’s a bad play call at that moment in the game.

It's part of his aggressive offense but it's more risky than aggressive.

How dare you question the great Zachariah!  Per someone said, let it go.

Good:  We win, we win, we win!!!

  • D Line pressure; Hendrikson was being held all day and he still won his battles.
  • O Line; kept Joe safe, bigger lanes in the run game and no F'ups in the centre of the line.

Bad: The refs

  • Changed the game with those flags on roughing the passer
  • Changed the game with their lack of a flag, if Hendrikson is not held Ben does not make some of those bigger completions.

Ugly: Zac's play calling and game management.

  • Always burns a timeout at the begining of halves
  • That timeout when we got them to jump offside.
  • Calling 2 plass plays when we need to pound the ball and burn the clock.  An turnover there shifts momentum and give Shittsburgh a sniff at a win.  Stoopid.

An ugly... might as well put it here as anywhere...

Justin Tucker's record-breaking field goal enabled by a missed penalty that 'clearly should have been' called

A delay-of-game penalty would have cost the Ravens 5 yards, and turned Tucker's 66-yarder into an even more improbable 71-yarder. Instead, it wasn't called.

When asked about the no-call postgame, Lions coach Dan Campbell said, with a shake of his head: "Yeah, there's nothing I can say to that. ...Tomorrow you'll get an apology [from the league], and it doesn't mean anything. That's life."

Another good...

NFL on CBS

@NFLonCBS

Ja'Marr Chase has a 30-yard rec TD in each of his first 3 career games. He is the ONLY player to do this in the Super Bowl Era.

Watching post game podcasts

Liscow said this....

Jamar Chase is the first Bengals rookie to have a TD in 3 straight games.
He also is the youngest WR (and 21-year-old) to have 4 TDs in his first 3 games.....
The last youngest player to have 3 TD in his first 3 games?
Randy Moss
