The Good, The Bad, And the Ugly: Detroit Lions 10/17/21

Recommended Posts

Good:. Won

Bad:. Didn't finish the game in the 1st quarter.

Ugly:. Detroit Fan's message boards right now.  I was in chat with a bunch of them.  It reminds me of the Dave Shula era.

Funny:. Detroit fan throwing the football back onto the field.  Not sure what was supposed to happen.  Bags on their heads are coming out.

Good:

- Hendrickson just keeps rolling

- Chido just keeps rolling

- Wilson just keeps rolling

- Chris Evans was fantastic in several ways

- McPherson came out and hit everything.

- Joe^2

Bad:

- First half offensive game plan... again...

- OL is stupidly thin right now, we might not survive next week unless something is done to shore this shit up.

Ugly:

- That pass play after the two-minute warning... I mean, my god...

Want to add Evans blocking, he picked up the Safety on that long Case pass really well

Good:

We win and hit 30 points.

Bad:

OL - not only is it thin, the interior is just week.  I haven't seen a good pocket all season.

Ugly:

1st half play calling, Lions D playing the middle and we only take about 3 deeper shots over them.  We should have 20 points in the first half.

Good

         2nd half offense

Did anyone on the D have a bad game?

Bad

         1st half offense

Oline. I don't know if it's lack of talent, scheme or what, They play OK in spurts but it's not consistant

A fan can only keep a football if a player hands it to them.

Plus it looked like it was a guy from the press corps or some other specialty group in a small/separate seating area (had a special lanyard & placard)...not like he was gonna get away with it in that context.

Bad... Did not put Ja'marr in for one more play at the end of the game so he could

get the three yards he needed for a 100 yard day.

That's called class.  Game was over.  They all got the most important statistic.  The W.

This reminds me of games at Purdue University (in the mid 70s).  After kicks went into the freshman student section at one end of the stadium, there would be staff members trying to retrieve the ball.  As the season wore on, the students started playing keep-away, tossing the ball higher and higher…and then out of the stadium (as everyone cheered).

One time, after the ball had gone up near the top of the stadium, instead of throwing it out of the stadium, it was tossed laterally to the next section…and on to the next section…and the next…all the time with staff members frantically trying to have someone toss them the ball.

A hundred yard receiving day would have enhanced his chances of being Rookie of the Year

and not affected much of anything.  Not saying another 70 yard bomb TD, just a half dozen yard

out and out of bounds.  It may compensate for an off day which is bound to come.
