My very first NFL game ever was Bengals at Oilers in 93 - you know, our 'all-star' years - game was abysmal, as you can imagine, but Francis came to play that day. I will still go see our Bengals if they come to town, but it's not pleasant, especially with these fickle fans.

I was at the game as well.

It was the last game for the Oilers at the Astrodome, before they moved to Tennessee.

I even got a few autographs after the game.

One of them was Jeff Blake.

If I'm not mistaken, James Francis had a TD that game on either a fumble recovery or interception.

Curious if this holds for Evans after Perine comes off Covid list. Hope it does.

I've never heard a bad word about Evans, other than he didn't play enough his last two years of college. The thing is, that was entirely for scholastic reasons. He apparently showed good character by straightening that out and accepting the situation. His college highlight reels show a guy with excellent vision and ability to exploit space, as well as create it. Maybe the reason he wasn't drafted higher (missed games) is just extra tread on the tires for us. I know were looking at him to fill Gio's role, but he might have a bit of McCaffrey to offer as well.

He was one of my favorite draft picks.

Remember reading Duke Manyweather praise him and say Bengals got a steal in him.

He and Spain were screwed around by Turner but he should settle into a good backup LT or possibly LG with Coach Pollack..

Im not sure he has the power in the interior but its a positive to add him back to the oline when hes ready...

Watkins out will hurt them..

I dont know whos running but it puts more pressure on LeMar to move the ball.

Its another caveat to win this game...

Could the stars be aligning for a Bengals upset? Sure hope so!

In all honesty the injury report.is in our favor by a long shot..

The Bengals have the starters to compete with any team..

If Hopkins and Carman can perform well they could win this game..

Jackson is special but Im starting to believe our defense is as well...

Totally agree, on all points.

Full disclosure, when the sched came out I absolutely had this game penciled in as a loss immediately. Keeping that in perspective, feels pretty weird thinking we can go into their house and actually have a chance.

Even if we can't pull out the victory Sunday, hopefully we wont have to wait long for one after that against the Jets.

Yes..As of now first half schedule is in their favor..

5-3 or hopefully 6-2 isnt out of their sights I would think..

I wouldnt have penciled in 2 Browns wins at the start but looks quite possible now..

Keep Lemur running parallel to the line of scrimmage and not letting him turn

upfield would be nice. (duh, Harry)

He also seems to have a tendency for turn overs under pressure.

Evans has way more versatility than Perine.  OTOH, Perine is built to take a beating.  Powerful man.  Good combo.  Both of them should be used.

Maybe use Perine to spell Mixon in short yardage and red zone situations kind of like a Mike Alstot, and then go Evans as RB2 in all other situations.

Also contain Mark Andrews, but we all know how badly we contain TEs. Latavius Murray is out.

They might put Pratt and Bell in Andrews area ..

He just finds seams and LeMar is accurate with him..

Its definately a key to the game especially in the red zone outside of trying to contain Jackson all day..

Big task..

We have a defense that just might win that challenge..
