I mean, we just had that game two weeks ago. And last week. They rested those 4th quarters. It would be nice to do it again, but not sure that it means they are not for real if they can't pull that off.

Got ya. Ive missed a few games so far.

Crediting our beloved HSH "asking for a friend" What's the "cart thing" about?

Bengals were using it to help reporters when they were on the field have a place to put their phones for recording. A few of the bengals Twitter world made a light joke about how cheap it looked. Some national types then hammered the team. The actual reporters said this was all bullshit because they appreciate the convenience of the cart for its limited use.

the team account has been leaning into the uproar to somewhat hilarious affect.

Waynes is due $11M next season.  There would be $5M of dead cap space if they cut him.

It could help, but the Bengals would have to sign someone else or rely on a rookie at CB.

His cap hit is actually $16 million next season with $5 million dead cap if he's cut so, the Bengals would gain $11 million on the cap to cut him. The Bengals are actually in very, very good shape over the next few seasons with very few high priced "gotta" signs and lots of cap space. There's zero reason they cannot keep Bates if that's what they want to do. If they were really smart, they would have got him signed this year where they could have absorbed some of the new contract in a year they have $10 million in remaining cap space.

Hate he has been such a bad investment so far, but only due to injury. May strengthen the already good D if he can get healthy and actually play. May be a good surprise return in a cpl weeks or so. If he returns and plays well think they still let him walk?

The cap is also going to go up massively next year!  If I'm correct, it's going to go from 182.5 mil to 208.2 mil.  They should have more than enough money to get Everyone they want signed, and bring in a Free Agent or two.

Kinda of a crap shoot.  Missed all last year, only played 2 games this year will be 30 soon.   Meh.  Unless he is just lighting it up in rehab…
