Ravens Week - Part 2

Recommended Posts

These graphs from Morrison's piece today were hella interesting (to me anyway)...

Quote

3. Hendrickson upped his season total to 13 sacks, which is half a sack shy of the Bengals’ official record set by Carlos Dunlap in 2015, although the team recognizes Coy Bacon’s total of 22 in 1976, which was six years before the league made sacks an official stat.

4. Ogunjobi had 1.5 sacks, which tied his season high and raised his 2021 total to seven, leaving him third on the team behind Hendrickson and Sam Hubbard (7.5). This is just the third time in franchise history the Bengals have had at least three players reach seven or more sacks in a season, the others occurred in 2017 (Geno Atkins 9, Carl Lawson 8.5, Carlos Dunlap 7.5) and 1984 (Reggie Williams and Eddie Edwards 9, Ross Browner 8).

5. Defensive tackle B.J. Hill has 5.5. If he can get 1.5 more, the Bengals will join the 2017 Jaguars and 2013 Bills as the only teams in the past 13 years to have four players with at least seven sacks.

Still can’t get over the fact that we stole this guy off of the Giants roster for Billy fucking Price of all people. Major props to Zac and Duke for that little coup d’état.

Do the Giants ever do anything right?

No...

Like to make more trades with them in the future.

Maybe coerce them into one of their 1st rounders for Hopkins and a 2nd rounder..😎

Theyre dumb enough to take the bait..

Adeniji played 20 snaps before rookie Jackson Carman replaced him for the final 33. Carman received the team’s fifth-highest offensive grade (71) from Pro Football Focus.

13. Tackle Fred Johnson made his first start of the season and eighth of his career after starter Riley Reiff went on injured reserve earlier in the week, and backup Isaiah Prince was ruled out due to illness. All Johnson did was earn a PFF grade of 82.8, which was the highest of his career and the highest among all Bengals offensive players Sunday. The other Bengals players finishing in the top five were quarterback Joe Burrow (78.8), wide receiver Tyler Boyd (74.1) and Adeniji (73.5).

14. Taylor on the play of Adeniji, Carman and Johnson on the right side of the offensive line: “There was some good stuff. Our pass protection overall was good. It’ll go down in the books as three sacks, but two of them were on nakeds, one of them the safety triggered and got us, the other where Joe was smart and running the clock and sliding and that counts as a sack, unfortunately. The third was a coverage sack. We had some time, getting to No. 5 in the progression. Those guys stepped up and also did a nice job in the run game. There were things we can certainly improve on, but they played how we need them to play in this game.”

In case anyone missed it, Bochi has a torn acl and is done for the year.

Wilson wont be back this week, so we're down to our 3rd string LB

Damn.  Feel bad for him.  He was playing well and positioning himself to be a full time NFL player.  Totally sucks.

That's the one thing Tee and Jamar need to work on in the offseason is getting open in double coverage.

I'd love to see them work with Chad as he was able to do that regularly.

Chad had some of the quickest feet ever..

Dont know if any receiver we have has that quickness..

Dont think he can teach that..

Hopefully we get Wilson back sooner than later. This unit is scarily thin.

Behind Pratt and Bailey we have Austin Calitro, who was in uniform on Sunday, and then some dude named Keandre Jones and a dude listed on the COVID 19/Reserve list named Clay Johnston.

Is Davis-Gaither gone for the year?

Are we seeing a breakthru on the young linemen now?

Hope so...

Hopefully Cartman keeps getting better because I do not want to name the OL "South Park"

Watching the All 22 guy that talks about Carman he said he just needs to get more consistent with his hands and if he does he has some real potential to be very good.

Yeah, he's been up and down - usually the problem with Rookie linemen.

I would just like to point out that by that metric, Jonah Williams got outplayed by Fred Johnson this weekend.
