MichaelWeston
Green are guys I like Orange are guys on the Bengals Column one is the draft order. Good players are more likely to leave bad teams Column two is the teams with the worst cap situations. These teams won't be able to pay their players Age is important as we typically sign guys 27 and under to long term deals Notes at the end highlight any connections to our current staff Spotto
Do we want to spend big coin on Bates and have less for the OL? Is safety a more replaceable position, I think so. Would Bates leaving affect our culture?

It would be a bad signal to send the locker room to not make a good faith effort to sign Bates. He's a core piece of the team and it would have a ripple effect. There is plenty of cap space now and going forward to sign Bates and more OL Bates is CLEARLY one of the young leaders so I would say it is a big risk to culture NOT signing him. Replaceable with whom? Not re-signing key players and leaders when you have the cap space is a step backwards.

Like to see them do that again with Jesse III. Now would be a great time to do so and announce it for a bit of a boost. Pay the man. He's worth it. As everyone I loved Geno and liked Carlos in his younger days. However, in the back of my mind I have always wondered if the Bengals would not have been better off to dangle both of those guys as trade bait back in 2018? Could we have received a high draft pick or 2 or even a player or 2 that could have helped fix the OL back then?

How's this for radical ain't gonna happen... trade hendrickson and out 2nd to move way up and take Linderbaum and maybe a third? Like BJ said, sign a quality ORT and move Reiff inside for a year. Ossai is out there lurking and another high pick for another DE/big edge.
|westside bengal|
Trae Waynes is the biggest cap hit on the Bengals right now at $15.8 million. I hope they add what they can of that for FA spending.

I dunno...wow...not sure there is such a thing as a "can't miss" Olineman as we have unfortunately witnessed over the years...and Hendrickson has been golden. However, I do keep forgetting about Ossai...if he is truly what he has flashed in the past, he would be awesome to get back. Hopefully we get a couple/few OLinemen thru free agency and then can really just go BPA (within reason of course) in the draft.

And then depend on A rookie and 2nd year guy who hasn`t played yet to replace what Hendrickson gives us on and off the field? Radical ain`t gonna happen sounds right. Weaken the defense to improve the offense, no thanks.

In the basement of Paul Brown Stadium, they are diligently working on “extending” Vernon Hargreaves.
